HSE Representatives on Local Community Development Committees Local Authorities have a history of improving population health and the new

LCDC structures present a further opportunity for joint working and engagement

HSE is a key stakeholder in community development and LECP planning process – opportunity for joined up planning across shared priorities including improved Health and Wellbeing

2015 H&WB Operational Plan includes commitment for the co-ordination of Healthy Ireland input to the LCDCs

HSE representation on nearly all of 33 LCDCs.

A HSE LCDC Representatives event was held in May with representatives from DOH and

HSE developing a resource document to support LCDC representatives based on the Marmot (2010) Report which identified 8 areas where actions are likely to be most effective in reducing health inequalities
