ABSTRACT SUMMARY:-

• The article made an in-depth technical analysis on the performance of the Stratus fault-tolerant server.

• The article proposed the digital hospital information system structure based on Stratus fault-tolerant server and explored and analyzed the economic and technical advantages of the program.

INTRODUCTION SUMMARY:-

1) The social development requires that hospitals should no longer be operated according to the traditional mode of service operation.

2) The Digital infrastructure & Network System:- • are Important means of hospital operations.• are the base supporting platform for the hospital operation and

development.• help hospitals improve the management level, service level and technical

level, the hospital’s operational efficiency.

INTRODUCTION SUMMARY:-

3) Computer System is the command center for any Hospital Information Center.• It needs to operate with high stability and reliability. • The core server is the core equipment of the Computer System.• Hospital Information System builds core servers using double-hot standby program

(Active / Active Clustering) to increase the reliability of the system. • However, double-hot standby program increases the overall hardware and software

investment costs and system operation and maintenance costs.• In addition, it may not have adequate insurance, meaning that, there are still

problems of safety and reliability in the conventional Cluster System Program (double-hot standby Program).

4) As a result, Fault Tolerant and High-Performance Stratus Server have been put on the market. • It can be used in real-time industrial control system, like Air Traffic Control System.• It can be also used Financial Management System.• Stratus fault-tolerant Servers can avoid system downtime; switch Stratus fault-tolerant

Servers can reduce system maintenance costs.• Stratus fault-tolerant Servers has replaced the traditional double-hot standby system in

many HIS (hospital information system).

STRATUS FAULT-TOLERANT SERVER DESIGN PRINCIPLE SUMMARY:-

1. Stratus fault-tolerant server uses full hardware redundancy, meaning that each component, like motherboard, CPU, memory and I/O modules is dual-mode hardware (redundant).

2. High Continuous Availability of the entire system is maintained because redundant hardware components implement the same instruction at the same.

3. Therefore, we can no longer have to worry about a single component failure resulting in the failure of the entire system.

4. The system can tolerate failure of any one component, and continue to work. 5. Stratus fault-tolerant server uses pairs of I/O input and output units, dual CPU and dual-

memory units. The original north and south bridge chips are changed into the fault detection and isolation chip. After that and based on the cross-communication between CPU components and I/O components, lockstep clock & synchronization enable the redundant hardware components to receive the same instruction at the same time to ensure continuous availability for the system & eliminate the single point failure.

6. Traditional double-hot standby program is only at the system level (that is, the server level).the mirror must be configured to connect the external disk array cabinets and the system remains connected to two servers heartbeat line, which there is a single point of failure when switching. In addition, this physical system-level redundancy depends on the script design and implementation level of the cluster.

STRATUS FAULT-TOLERANT SERVER DESIGN PRINCIPLE SUMMARY:-

Note:· We need 2 IP configured on LAN2 (Prod LAN) but they will not be used in the Cluster access.· Cluster SW will be build a Virtual IP for application access (VIP).

THE KEY TECHNOLOGY OF STRATUS FAULTTOLERANTSERVER SUMMARY:-

• Stratus fault-tolerant servers are the crystallization of experience in innovative technologies to provide continuous high availability run-time for the world’s harshest application areas in the last 20 years, while Stratus fault-tolerant server are designed for business-critical applications based on Windows + Intel architecture. They fully meet the 7 × 24 hours of continuous operation of critical business application requirement. They use three key technologies:- Synchronization (Lockstep Technology) Failsafe Software Active Service Architecture

THE KEY TECHNOLOGY OF STRATUS FAULTTOLERANTSERVER SUMMARY:-

• Synchronization (Lockstep Technology) — Lockstep technology uses replicated, fault-tolerant hardware components that process the same instructions at the same time. In the event of a component malfunction, the partner component acts as an active spare that continues normal operation and averts system downtime. The system also detects and corrects transient hardware errors that could cause software failures if left unchecked.

• Failsafe Software — Failsafe software works in concert with lockstep technology to prevent many software errors from escalating into outages. Unlike typical servers or clusters, Stratus fault-tolerant server hardware and software handles most errors transparently, shielding the operating system, middleware, and application software. Another advantage of the Stratus approach is that it constantly protects and maintains in-memory data. Management and diagnostic features capture, analyze, and notify Stratus of any software issues. This allows support personnel to take a proactive approach to correcting software problems before they recur. In addition, hardened device drivers add considerable reliability to the Windows environment on Stratus fault-tolerant server systems.

THE KEY TECHNOLOGY OF STRATUS FAULTTOLERANTSERVER SUMMARY:-

• Active Service Architecture — an unmatched combination of Active Service capabilities enables built-in serviceability not offered by other vendors. Stratus fault-tolerant server systems constantly monitor their own operation. When a fault is detected, the server correctly isolates the condition and automatically opens a call that tells the Stratus support center exactly what action to take. Remote support capabilities, which are made possible by the system’s Stratus fault-tolerant server Access Adapter and the global Active Service Network, enable Stratus service engineers to troubleshoot and resolve problems online more than 95% of the time. If necessary, the system automatically orders its own hot-swappable replacement part and ensures the correct part is delivered, within 24 hours, to major locations worldwide. Users can install these components easily while the Stratus fault-tolerant server system continues to run uninterrupted. In addition, a secure Web-based Active Service Manager allows Stratus and customer-authorized vendors to collaborate on faster problem resolution.

APPLICATION OF STRATUS FAULT-TOLERANT SERVERS IN THE HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM SUMMARY:-

Hospital information system includes the following main servers: • Hospital Information System (HIS) Server undertakes a variety of complex

application functions of the hospital information system, which include the out-patient management, the hospital management, the drug materials management, the case management, the health economics and management.

• Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) server is mainly responsible for the hospital image data collection, transmission, storage and the other related inquiries. Taking into account the characteristics of large amount of imaging information and data, you need to configure the relevant large-scale storage system

• The laboratory information system (LIS) Server is mainly responsible for the hospital examination, laboratory-related information and data management, and achieving the integration of examination data, laboratory data.

APPLICATION OF STRATUS FAULT-TOLERANT SERVERS IN THE HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM SUMMARY:-• Office Automation (OA) Center Server is a bridge for the operation of hospital

administration.

• Secure Server is mainly responsible for the entire system network security-related work.

• Medicare Server is mainly responsible for provincial and municipal health-care center for information exchange and financial clearing.

• WEB Server is primarily responsible for the application of the hospital information system based on Web and the establishment of the hospital portal information system.

APPLICATION OF STRATUS FAULT-TOLERANT SERVERS IN THE HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM SUMMARY:-

Through the analysis of functions and features of the server system in the hospital information system, this paper designed hospital information system server system of high reliability with Stratus fault-tolerant server as the core, which can ensure the system continuous availability of 7 × 24 hours. Depending on the scale size of the different application, HIS server, PACS server, as well as the LIS server can accordingly choose Stratus ftServer 2510, 4410 and 6210, etc. fault-tolerant server model with different specification.
