5. Academic qualificatlon.---(1) A candidate for recruitment to the post of

peon and farrash must have passed classV.

(2) A candidate for recruitment to the post ofliftman must have passed class V andmust, to the satisfaction of the appointingauthority, also possess requisiteknowledge and experience of running alift. Preference shall be given to aqualified electrician.

(3) No. academic qualification is required forthe posts of Coolie, Bhisti, Sweeper, Mali,Fireman and Chowkidar, but a literateperson will be preferred.

(4) A candidate for the post of Mali mustpossess requisite knowledge andexperience of the work of a Mali.

(5) Knowledge of cycling will be essential forthe post of peon and it will be anadditional qualification for all other posts.

Seniorityshall be determined by the order in which thenames are arranged in the list.

Reservation for Scheduled Casts, etc.--Reservation for recruitment to the variouscategories of posts in the establishment infavour of the Scheduled Castes andScheduled Tribes and from among disabledmilitary personnel and dependents offreedom fighters shall be in accordance withthe orders issued by the Chief Justice fromtime to time, having due regard to the ordersissued by the Governor from time to time onthe subject.Recruitment for sportsmen- One per centof vacancies in all class 111 posts on theestablishment of the Court shall be reservedat the stage of direct recruitment for suchskilled. players and sportsmen as haverepresented in National or Internationalgames on behalf of any State in India or Indiaas a whole at least for two years and inInternational competitions for one year orwho have represented their Universities atleast for three years in Inter UniversitiesTournaments organized by the InterUniversities Sports Board or who haverepresented their Schools in InternationalSports Meets organized by the all IndiaSchools Sports Board in Badminton, BasketBall, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Table Tennis,Volley Ball, Tennis, Weight Lifting, Wrestling,Boxino, Judo and Rifle Shootino.Nationality- A candidate for recruitment tothe establishment must be:(a) a citizen of India, or(b) a subject of Sikkim, or(c) a Tibetan refugee who came over to Indiabefore the I" January, 1972, with theintention of permanently settling in India, or(d) a person of Indian origin who hasmigrated from Pakistan, Burma, Ceylon andEast African Countries of Tanzania (formerlyTanganayika and Zanzibar) with the intentionof permanently settling in India.

Provided that in no case theperiod of probation will be extended by threeyears.(4) If it appears to the appointing authority atany time during or at the end of the period ofprobation or extended period of probation, asthe case may be. that a probationer has notmade sufficient use of his opportunities orhas otherwise failed to give satisfaction, hemay be reverted to his substantive post, ifany or if he does not hold a lien on any post,his services may be dispensed with.(5) A Person whose services are dispensedwith under sub-rule (4) shall not be entitled toany compensation.

Confirmation- A Probationer shall beconfirmed in his appointment at the end of hisperiod of probation or extended period ofprobation, as the case may be, if-(a) his work and conduct during theprobationary period have been found tobe satisfactory;(b) he is considered fit for confirmation, and(c) his integrity is certified.

Canvassing- No recommendation eitherwrillen or oral other than those requiredunder these rules will be taken intoconsideration. Any allempt on the part of acandidate to enlist support directly orindirectly for his candidature by other meanswill disqualify him for appointment.

Regulation of other mallers-(1) All officers and servants of the Court shallbe subject to the superintendence andcontrol of the Chief Justice.(2) In respect of all mailers (not provided forin these rules) regarding the conditions ofservice of officers and servants of the Courtincluding mailers relating to their conduct,control and discipline, the rules and ordersfor the time being in force and applicable toGovernment servants holding correspondingposts in the Government of Ullar Pradeshshall apply to the officers. and servants of theCourt subject to such modifications,variations and exceptions, if any. as the ChiefJustice mav. from time to time, specify:
