The Barrett 924 Fax system is a simple and reliable hardcopy data transfer system for high frequency radionetwork requiring minimal system setup and operatortraining.

The Barrett 924 HF Fax system is ideal for providing faxconnections between sites that have no connection totelephone systems.

An HF Fax station consists of a Barrett 950 transceiverand 924 modem, a suitable power supply and antennaand an inexpensive standard fax machine - No computeror expensive software is required.

Operators simply establish a radio link by voice, selcall orALE, put the documents to be transmitted to the distantstation in the fax machine and dial in the remote stationsnumber - the system takes care of the rest. When the Faxhas been received by the remote station anacknowledgment is printed on the local fax just as it wouldwhen using a fax connected to a telephone line.

System setup is simple - enter the HF networkfrequencies into the transceiver and enter the station'sradio call identification number through the fax keyboard.The system is ready to send faxes.

Integrated into Barrett Communication's standardequipment enclosure, the 924 Fax modem uses astandard bus cable to connect it to a Barrett 950transceiver.

For mobile operation the 924 modem operates with theBarrett 950 remote control transceiver and commonlyavailable 12 volt fax machines.

The system uses the robust and high speed Clover 2000protocol to transmit the fax digitally and error free. Withtypical good HF conditions a standard page of text can besent in less than 3 minutes. Slightly longer than atelephone fax but with no cost.

For future expansion the Barrett 924 Fax modem alsoprovides the same facilities as a Barrett 923 modem,connected to a computer running Barrett 923 operatingsoftware it provides computer to computer data transferwith Internet connection.
