Regular High School ProgramUWC offers outstanding university preparation for high school students in Grade 9, 10, 11, and 12.
University Foundation ProgramInternational students who have earned a high school diploma in their home country, but do not meet university entrance requirements, can complete the University Foundation Program at UWC. Students who successfully complete the University Foundation Program will earn a Manitoba high school diploma and will be eligible to apply to universities/colleges.

SEAMLESS ADMISSION TO UWINNIPEG
Graduating Collegiate students who meet entrance requirements to UWinnipeg automatically receive seamless admission into undergraduate studies. They will receive an offer of acceptance in January before being offered formal admission in April, when final Grade 12 marks are available.
DUAL-CREDIT COURSES
Qualified students can accelerate their learning at UWC by taking dual-credit courses in their Grade 12 year. Dual-credit courses are introductory first-year university courses that students can use for credit toward both their high school diploma and an eligible university degree.
We also offer university credit courses that help students transition to university studies including Intro to University (MULT-1000) and Academic Writing (RHET-1105).
EAL-CREDIT COURSES
Our unique high school program provides international students with English language and social studies instruction at the ‘E’ (EAL) designated level, in addition to integrated academic instruction at the ‘S’ (Specialized) designated level.
CUSTOMIZED ACADEMIC AND STUDENT SUPPORT
UWC’s full-time international student advisor assists students with academic planning and ongoing academic and student support services throughout their high school program.
International Collegiate students receive assistance and guidance in completing applications for university/college programs.
In addition, a dedicated scholarship office assists students with their applications for scholarships and awards for their post-secondary studies.

COLLEGIATE ACADEMIC YEAR
A University Model
UWC closely conforms to The University of Winnipeg academic year, providing students with a more thorough preparation for university studies. The schedule allows qualifying Grade 12 students to take university courses as well as high school courses in the same study session.
There are two study sessions per academic year. Fall/Winter session runs from September* to April and Spring session runs from May to June.
*Grade 12 students are required to start their academic program in August.
COLLEGIATE COURSE OFFERINGS
UWC offers a wide variety of courses in the Arts, Science and Technology, and Humanities. Collegiate students complete a minimum of 30 credits in order to graduate, including 19 compulsory credits, plus electives that prepare them to reach future goals and meet university entrance requirements.

A Month of Canadian HistoryThe University of Winnipeg Collegiate engages in a unique approach to earning the Canadian History credit, required for the Manitoba High School Diploma. All new international students (Grade 12) arrive in August to participate in a month full of interactive learning, both on campus and at historical and cultural sites in Winnipeg. Through this unique approach, students learn about the history of Canada, experience Canadian culture first-hand, and become orientated with the city of Winnipeg and the UWC campus, prior to the start of the regular academic year, which begins in September.

PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP
The University of Winnipeg offers an exclusive scholarship for International students. The President’s Scholarship will be given to international students entering any of the University’s divisions for the first time. The value of the scholarship is $3,500. There will be up to three scholarships available.
Applicants must have a minimum 80% admission average (or equivalent), and must be involved in activities that demonstrate leadership.

APPLY EARLY
UWC accepts applications throughout the calendar year. However, because visa processing times vary, it is recommended to apply as soon as possible.
Students who apply by March 31 qualify for a $500 tuition credit.
How to ApplyThe Collegiate would be honoured to have you join our high achieving community of learners. The steps below are an overview of the application process — details will be provided at each step of the process.
01. SUBMIT APPLICATION
Submit the completed international student application package.

02. INTERVIEW AND ASSESSMENT
A Skype interview and in-house written assessment will be conducted after submission of the application package.
03. OFFER OF ACCEPTANCE
Successful applicants will be notified by email with an “Offer of Acceptance” letter. The letter will confirm grade level placement and request a full tuition deposit to be paid prior to the release of your “Official Acceptance Package”.
04. OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE PACKAGE
Upon receipt of the tuition deposit, the Collegiate will issue your “Official Acceptance Package”.
The package will include documents that you will need to submit to the Canadian High Commission.
A Custodian Declaration (for students under 18) will also be provided.
05. HOMESTAY

06. PREPARATORY SESSIONS
Conduct a registration session and pre-arrival sesion (in person or via Skype) with the international student advisor.
