General Notices
World Challenge (SNS) Every two years the school runs a World Challenge expedition that visits far flung places around the world. So far we have visited India, Madagascar and Vietnam/Cambodia. The students who participate have to raise the cost of the trip as well as source specific kit and make sure they have the correct inoculations. They have to develop highly effective team work skills and will manage a large budget to make sure the team have somewhere to sleep each night and are well fed over the 3 ½ week trip. This year we are travelling to Borneo at the beginning of July. Please take a look at the link below where you can see the draft itinerary for the trip as well as see updates as the group progresses around the country. http://learn.highcliffeschool.com/frogos/app/os#!9d91c014f767cae063e89599c091ff2b/itinerary The names of those students involved with the World Challenge expedition are:

ADT Exhibition (SNS) Over the next few weeks the annual Summer ADT exhibition will be being created in Da Vinci. It will evidence the high quality of work that has been produced by our Year 11, 12 and 13 students over the past year. The private view will take place on the 18th June where any student from these year groups has the opportunity to view some of the work produced as part of the ADT GCSE and A Level courses whilst also enjoying canapé’s served by some of our Catering students. The exhibition will remain up until the final week of term. Please remember to bring your invitation to the exhibition so that you are able to vote for your favourite piece of work on the night. Mr Nicholls.
Music Tour (ERY)
We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for Highcliffe students to take part in our upcoming Music tour to Rhine and Moselle, Germany. It is intended for musicians across all year groups and extra-curricular ensembles to take part, providing them with a new experience of performing abroad in a new and exciting environment. The visit will run during activities week next year from Saturday 16th July to Wednesday 20th July 2016.
Anyone who did not manage to get in their form for the music tour by the deadline or anyone who is now interested please see a member of the music department ASAP.
Cashless Catering (MDS)
The catering company have requested that all students make sure they clear any negative balances (overdrawn balances) from the cashless system before the end of term. This can be done using Wisepay or the cash re-valuers.

Bar Mock Trial Competition 2015
This year, Highcliffe School has applied to take part
in the Bar Mock Trial Competition. Run in partnership
with the Bar Council, this competition gives students
an exciting insight into the workings of the legal
system and we are looking for participants!
Students, aged 15-18 years (in November 2015),
work in teams to defend and prosecute two specially
written criminal cases, developing their advocacy,
communication and other employability and social
skills. You can take on the roles of
barristers/advocates, witnesses, court staff and
jurors and your performances are judged by real
judges and senior barristers. You will
present your case against teams from other
schools. First, you have to become familiar
with the case and then you have to battle it
out in real courtrooms, in front of real
judges!
The school will put together a team of 15
students and you must be aged 15-18 in
November 2015. In addition to this you will
be required to attend one rehearsal after
school each week and be prepared to
undertake some independent preparation
work in the summer holidays.
Not interested in performing in the competition?
If you’re not sure about performing but would like to be involved then you may consider becoming a Court Artist or Reporter. These competitions run alongside the Bar National Mock Trial Competition. They provide a unique opportunity to find out more about the work of court reporters and/or court artists. After watching one of the trials at a regional heat, the Reporter will write a newspaper article reporting on the case they have watched.
