Additionally, it will appear on the confirmation notice generated to the student after a successful submission of the CARES Application.

    By submitting this application, I certify that I have or will incur allowable expenses of food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, childcare, and/or transportation as a result of the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus which equal or exceed the amount of the this CARES Act grant award. I understand it is my responsibility to notify the Financial Aid office immediately if I will not incur expenses that meet or exceed the amount of my award. I acknowledge that I have read and understood the CARES Act grant eligibility requirements as noted in the Buffalo State College Cares Act Grant communication previously sent to me on September 10, 2020.

    Under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, students will receive awards ranging from $300 to $6,195.

    SUNY Buffalo State College has prioritized awarding of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to its students in the following manner (methodology):

    Emergency Financial Aid Grants will be awarded to Title IV eligible students for expenses related to the COVID-19 disruption for 2019-20 and 2020-21 aid years.

    1. Title IV Pell eligible recipients are the Priority 1 student group; applicants with thelowest EFCs will be awarded first.

    2. Title IV Non-Pell eligible recipients (undergraduate and graduate levels) are thePriority 2 student group; lowest EFCs will be awarded first.
