Greetings TRIO family! It is an exciting time of the
year for the CSULA Upward Bound Programs. As
the end of the school year nears, we have been
focusing on making sure our participants finish
the year academically strong by offering them
academic support through our Study Hall,
Saturday Academy and Academic Advising. With regards to our 12th
grade participants, we are excited to announce that they have all
committed to enroll in postsecondary education in fall 2015, please take a
look at page 4 of the newsletter to learn where each participant will be
enrolling this fall. Congratulations to all of them. I am proud of their
academic accomplishments and wish them a successful postsecondary
education journey.
We are also gearing up for our busiest time of the year. Our rising 9th, 10th,
11th, and 12th grade participants will continue with us this summer as part
of our rigorous 6-week summer program. In addition, select 11th and 12th
grade participants will take part in our 2-week residential program. We
have an amazing team of teachers, tutors and residential advisors who are
ready and eager to work with our participants. Our goal is to provide the
participants with an enriching academic experience that will prepare them
for the upcoming school year.
I am looking forward to finishing off the year strong and to take part in
what I’m sure will be a successful summer program, with the active
participation of our students, parents and staff. I am also looking forward
to meeting and welcoming our new participants.
Sincerely,
Yara Jimenez, Director
