Arrowood's Kindergarten students have been learning about dental health. Dr.Burke from Burke Orthodontics v isited to teach about proper brushing andflossing, the importance of limiting sugary food and drinks, and what to expectwhen v isit ing the orthodontist. Each student received a free toothbrush,toothpaste, and floss.

Dr. Seuss' birthday was celebrated all last week at Cox Elementary. Each daystudents wore something different that represented one of his popular books: OnMonday they wore wacky socks for Fox In Socks, on Tuesday - hats for The Cat inthe Hat - on Wednesday they donned mustaches to represent The Lorax's largeorange 'stache, on Thursday they wore green for The Grinch, and on Friday theywore their favorite college shirts to represent the book Oh The Places You'll Go!Guest readers joined in the fun, too. McKinley students also dressed up in different Seussy wear last week tocelebrate reading! Monday was "Freedom to Read Day" - students wore red,white and blue. On Tuesday they wore green for Green Eggs & Ham Day,Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday - they wore crazy outfits, they wore animalprints on Thursday for "If I Ran the Zoo Day" and on Friday they dressed as theirfavorite Dr. Seuss character. Ms. Whitley's class made "green eggs and ham" outof pretzels, white chocolate and green M&Ms. Mrs. Gibson's class made Cat inthe Hat hats, also they also ate green eggs and ham. Students wrapped up their rock unit bymaking igneous, metamorphic, andsedimentary rocks out of brokencrayons, then presented their reportsand went through different rockstations detailing luster, size, and type.

Pennies for Patients Fundraising Activit iesPennies for Patients Fundraising Activit ies

Activ it ies for Warner's Pennies for Patients fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society are ongoing this month. This is an annual serv ice project toraise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults fightingblood cancers. Last week, students donated cash to be able to bring in their I-pods for the day. The Kona Ice Truck v isited too, raising more funds. OnWednesday four student teams and a teacher team played in the 6th annualDodgeball Tournament. Students paid $1 admission to watch the game. Theschool's goal is to raise $4,800.

Mrs. Evans’ French Class studied Mardi Gras, as it is a French Holiday, andcelebrated in class. Students made masks and brought in French food. AdriannaNooks made a delicious Mardi Gras themed cake. Junior bowler Caity Moody bowled games of 180, 226,and 194 for an impressive 600 series at the 2019 OHSAABowling State Championship, and she earned 6th placeoverall and "All-Ohio" Honors. Congratulations Caity!
