Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most awaited and thrilling festivals which spreads

zest, fervour and spreads a divine atmosphere all around. Hindu Mythology says that

Lord Ganesha is the source of wisdom, enlightenment and prosperity. Ganesh

Chaturthi commemorates 10 days festival to celebrate the arrival of Ganesha on

Earth from Kailash Parvat.

On 9th September2019 learners came dressed up in Indian attire to celebrate this

festivity.

The story of Lord Ganesha was narrated which was followed by an audio visual

explanation with significance of the celebrations. The entire celebration was depicted

through a role play where Lord Ganesha was brought to the class, worshiped and

finally immersed in water. The celebration included performing puja and distribution

of modaks too. Everyone undoubtedly enjoyed the festivity

Grandparents are fun to be around. Not only do they spill pearls of wisdom but also fill our lives with abundant and unmatched love and care. The joy of having them around is indescribable.

With a motive to celebrate this special and precious bond the learners of the Pre-primary section invited their grandparents to school on the 11th of Sept 2019. They were welcomed to the school following our Indian tradition of Aarti and accepting their blessings by touching their feet.

Selfie booth & props were an attraction of the day where they could capture moments with their grandchildren. Songs and dances were performed by learners for their grandparents under the guidance of their teachers. A special variation of Antakshari enhanced the mood of the celebration. Other activity related to the same theme was conducted in the classroom where they prepared a handmade card which was later given away as a take away, as a memory of the celebration.

It will always be a memorable day in the life of the grandchild as well as the grandparents in which they were able to weave innumerable memories together to be cherished forever.

Diplomathon

Our second year at Diplomathon was as stimulating and challenging as the first one.

It was a great platform for the students to ponder about world issues and hone and showcase their analytical and problem solving skills with a keen sense of sensitivities towards global issues.

Mother – Daughter Health and Hygiene session

‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure ‘

We began Saturday, 14 September, with a session on female health. Along with P&G Hygiene and Health Care Limited, TIS- Cambridge had arranged for a mother-daughter session to create awareness about the precautions a woman should take during her mensuration days.

In the session, P&G representative, Ms. Shailaja, discussed about the importance of open communication between a mother and a daughter. A mother is the nurturer of a child and can understand that child better than anyone else. A teenager may go through many changes – physiological and psychological, as they enter puberty. During this time, it is pertinent that their questions are answered correctly. The closest person they have is their mother, who can satisfy their curious queries.

The session also covered the safe practices and lifestyle one should follow for a healthier life and proper management of the biological cycle. The instructor answered the questions raised by the students and the mothers.

To show their gratitude, the daughters were encouraged to write a letter to their mothers, sharing their innermost feelings, and then present them to their mothers.
