Day 5 | Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 | SANTIAGO — BUENOS AIRES (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Then transfer to the airport and board your Air Canada flight #092 departs Santiago at 11:30 a.m. arrives Buenos Aires at 2:30 p.m.

Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for check-in. The remainder of your afternoon is at leisure.

Day 6 | Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 | BUENOS AIRES (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy a half-day city tour to visit the National Congress, the ancient Council, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Capitol (better known as “Pink House”). The buildings that surround the “Mayo Square” consist of the above mentioned spots. The tour also includes the magnificent areas of Recoleta and Palermo, with their beautiful parks and buildings, the Colon Theatre, one of the five most important Opera theatres of the world and many other buildings and palaces of architectural, historical and cultural value. We will also visit San Telmo area, one of the most antique districts of the city, as well as the Boca district, with its “caminito”- a picturesque pedestrian street where you will find its colourful metal sheet tenements. Finally, the tour will lead us to the recently recycled district of Puerto Madero, old area of the Buenos Aires port.

The remainder of your afternoon is at leisure.

In the evening enjoy a dinner and Tango show.

Day 7 | Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 | BUENOS AIRES (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today’s highlight is a full day Gaucho Party at Santa Susana Ranch.

Board your overnight flight to Santiago on Air Canada #092 departs Toronto at 10:40 p.m. arrives Santiago at 9:20 a.m. the following day.

Day 2 | Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 | ARRIVE SANTIAGO (D)

Arrive in Santiago airport, proceed with transfer to the hotel. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3 | Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 | SANTIAGO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, enjoy a half-day city tour which will include visits to the Presidential Palace, the historic centre of Plaza de Armas, the cathedral, the old post office, the Palacio de la Real Audiencia (now home to the National History Museum) and the Casa Colonial. Then continue west towards the Andes, past the Cerro San Cristobal and finally conclude with a visit to the fashionable business districts of Providencia and Las Condes – with their broad boulevards, high rises and fine restaurants.

In the afternoon enjoy a half-day tour to Maipo Valley to visit Undurraga Winery. Return back to the hotel.

Day 4 | Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 | SANTIAGO — VALPARAÍSO (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will take a full-day tour of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. The historic city of Valparaíso is Chile’s oldest port. It is also home to the country’s Senate and Chamber of Deputies, which moved here from the capital in 1989. During the tour you will see the historic city centre, whose fine 19th Century architecture is the reason for its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Then, you will travel to a view-point overlooking the city via one of Valparaíso’s signature funicular elevators, two dozen of which were built at the turn of the 20th Century to connect the upper and lower sections of the city. A lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will also visit the parliamentary

and cereal production. At the ranch you can enjoy horse rides, a “regional barbecue”, music shows, folk dances and other shows of gaucho skills, as ring and “cuadreras” races. Most of the ranches have their own museum, where they show their history through different pieces of furniture, tools and elements that belonged to successive owners.

Return back to the hotel.

Day 8 | Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 | BUENOS AIRES — IGUAZU (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Iguazu onboard Lan #4024 departs Buenos Aires at 11:15 a.m. arrives Iguazu at 1:05 p.m.

Arrive at the airport and proceed to enjoy a tour of the Argentine falls.

The National Park has two circuits to be covered, one at a lower surface and the other at the upper one. In the lower circuit, one can reach the base of the falls, where the magnificence of their beauty can be appreciated. In the upper circuit, the tour is a bit more sedentary where unique

landscapes can be viewed from footbridges and viewpoints, which makes the tour an unforgettable experience.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant inside the National Park.

Then cross the border to the Brazilian side and transfer to your hotel.

Accommodations for 2 nights: Bourbon Cataratas.

Day 9 | Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 | IGUAZU (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy of a half-day tour of the Falls on the Brazilian side. There is a giant balcony from where the waterfalls can be viewed, or observe them from more distant and wider angles. The area is made of an only circuit of footbridges that is located in front of the falls and offers a panoramic view.

Return back to the hotel.

Day 10 | Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 | IGUAZU — RIO DE JANEIRO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Rio de Janeiro onboard Tam #3186 departs Iguazu at 12:53 p.m. arrives in Rio at 2:45 p.m.

Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon enjoy of a half-day Favela tour. The tour will take you to Rocinha slum, the largest slum in South America with around 150,000 inhabitants. You can watch the routine of this community, visiting local houses, day nurseries and schools. You walk through the small streets, watch the local commerce and visit the gym of the Samba School Acadêmicos da Rocinha. There is also a flea market with food and hand made goods from the North and Northwest regions at the Boiadeiro Square.

Return back to the hotel.

Accommodations for 2 nights: Rio Othon Palace.

Day 11 | Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 | RIO DE JANEIRO (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full-day tour of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf. The tour starts with a panoramic tour of downtown Rio passing by the Sambodrome and a stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral which was built in a pyramidal form.

Familiarize yourself with the traditional Cinelândia Square with its historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. Through the Aterro do Flamengo, you will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca where one of the largest symbols of the city is located, Sugar Loaf.

You’ll travel all the way to the top by cable car. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 meters high for which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói Bridge and Corcovado Mountain. The second cable car takes you to the top. At 395 meters you’ll enjoy splendid views of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and several beaches of Niterói.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then proceed to Cosme Velho train station at the bottom of Corcovado Mountain to take the ride up to the top, through the dense Tijuca rain forest to the 38 meters tall (125ft) Christ Redeemer Statue. On a clear day, the views are unforgettable.

Afterwards, return back to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at Fogo do Chao restaurant.

Day 12 | Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 | RIO DE JANEIRO — TORONTO (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your entire day is at leisure.

In the evening transfer to the airport to board your Air Canada #099 departs Rio at 9:05 p.m. arrives Toronto at 5:40 a.m. the following day.

Supplier liability may also be limited by law, tariffs, or conditions set forth in their documentation, tickets, etc. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Merit and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, successors, assigns, agents and other representatives are not responsible for any and all claims for losses, damages (whether direct, indirect, special, punitive, or other consequential damages, lost profits or opportunities) delays, illness, injuries, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, or anxiety (whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if Merit and the Travel Service Suppliers have been advised of the possibility of damages to such party or any other party) arising from: (a) Fault or negligence or omissions on the part of the said travel service suppliers;(b) Illness, theft, strikes, mechanical problems, quarantine, governmental

intervention, weather conditions, acts of hostility or violence, and any other grounds beyond our control;

(c) Your failure to obtain passport, visas, other travel documents or inoculations (d) Your failure to advise us the name of the traveller exactly as it appears on the

passport;(e) Your failure to report on time at an airport or ground transfer facility;(f) Material damages, theft or other mysterious disappearances of your goods;(g) Personal injuries or death;(h) Force Majeure - an event(s) beyond our, or our supplier(s), reasonable control

including, but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, lockout or other labour disputes or disruptions, wars, blockades, insurrections, riots, earthquakes, weather conditions, floods or acts of restraints imposed by governmental authorities.

PRICINGAll prices are per person in Canadian dollars unless otherwise noted. GST, HST and provincial taxes are applicable on tours as noted. INCREASE IN TOUR COSTSMerit reserves the right to increase tour prices in the event of an increase in government and airport authority imposed taxes and fees, fuel and currency surcharges, supplier price increases, or any other cost increase. If the increase is greater than 7% of the tour cost, the client may cancel the booking within seven days of notification and obtain a full refund.

PAYMENT SCHEDULEA deposit of $750 per person is required at the time of booking. Full and final payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

Deposit requirements for some tours may vary. You will be advised of such cases at time of booking.

LIABILITYMerit cannot assume responsibility for any costs incurred for any travel arrangements purchased separately from the Merit tour. Merit’s responsibility shall extend only to the provisions of advice as to industry-standard or supplier recommended connections and check-in times.Provided Merit supplies such advice, they shall not be responsible for missed connections or departures, regardless of the cause.

TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN (INSURANCE)Trip cancellation and interruption insurance, medical and hospital insurance, baggage insurance, and various additional insurances are available and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you are required to sign an Insurance Waiver Form. Note that if you choose not to purchase insurance, you

are fully liable for any and all penalties imposed as stated under Cancellation Policy on this page. Please speak to your representative at the time of making reservations about insurance.

REFUNDSThe nature of travel involves risks and unpredictable weather and thus Merit cannot assure any departure or arrival times at any point of an itinerary. Your right to receive a refund is limited.

There will be no discounts or monies refunded for any missed or unused services.

Merit reserves the right to cancel the tour for any reason. Should this occur, a full refund will be made to the traveller.

CANCELLATION POLICYWhile Merit will do its utmost to minimize any penalties charged, there are irrecoverable costs associated with your tour. The following penalties will be considered the costs incurred with cancellation:(A) 90 days or more prior to departure: Loss of total deposit.(B) 89 – 60 days prior to departure: Loss of 50% of total tour cost.(C) 59 days or less prior to departure: Loss of 100% of total tour cost.

Cancellation penalties for some tours will vary and there may be additional penalties associated with the airfare. If so, these policies will be noted separately at time of booking and will prevail.

TOUR CHANGESWe reserve the right to substitute itineraries, hotels, airlines or vessels due to conditions beyond our control. In such cases we will do everything possible to ensure the locations visited, the excursions taken and the hotels offered are similar to the ones originally planned. Any change to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund.

REVISION FEEChanges to your tour reservation might not be possible. Should you request a change and we are able to accommodate it, you will be subject to any charges imposed by the airline or tour suppliers. In addition, we reserve the right to charge a $50 revision fee for any change made after the deposit is paid. A change in name or departure date may constitute a cancellation, and the corresponding penalties may apply.

PERSONAL DOCUMENTATIONAll passengers travelling internationally must travel with a passport. Many countries require the passport to be valid for 6 months beyond the traveller’s return date. Visas may be required for some destinations. It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain at the passenger’s expense, all documentation required by all relevant authorities. In the event that the passenger does not possess the correct documentation, the air carrier has the right to refuse passage.

DESCRIPTIONEvery effort has been made to describe and produce the travel services and photographs as accurately as possible in the printed tour description. However we reserve the right to correct errors and we will make all reasonable efforts to inform you should any significant changes occur.

Please note that the living standards and local conditions during your tour may be different from what you are accustomed to at home.

CONSENTYour retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute your consent to the above terms.

If you encounter any concerns during your tour, please inform your local travel service provider. If the matter cannot be resolved, please inform Merit Vacations in writing upon your return.
