Brief history of Hip Hop MusicHip hop music originated in the early 1970s in new York city . Since then The genre has grown and become a world wide popular genre with new artists entering it all the time and with other genres of music very similar to hip hop such as R&B and Rap which are also popular helps to keep this genre of music as popular as it is today.

AppearanceFemale: Tend to wear short or revealing dresses and tops. They tend to have long hair and wear bright make up such as bright red or pink lipstick

Male: The idea of wearing high top trainers and caps is very popular for men. Usually one item of their clothing is in a bright eye catching colour such as red or purple and it usually tends to be their cap or shoes.

Fonts The Fonts used for Hip hop magazines/albums is usually bold and thick fonts in either black or bright colours, usually blacks and reds for male artists and pinks for Female artists.

LayoutThe layouts of the front cover of hip hop magazines tends to be a mid shot of the artist posing in a unique way to them and then the main cover line around their waist and the mast head behind their head. There are usually then only a few other cover lines on the page usually located to the left. The Contents page of hip hop magazines is normally rather plain looking with one huge image and the use of the magazines colour schemeDouble page spreads in hip hop magazines tend to be mainly images, over a third of the double page spread is an image, one third the title and the remaining third is usually the interview itself and the main text is kept to a minimum and just gets straight to the main points.
