Hippos & Monkeys day story.

Good afternoon families! What another great day we

have had here in the Hippos room.

This morning we got to explore a Easter themed sensory

tray that Miss Meagan had made up.

The sensory tray was filled with a variety of objects,

which were all different shapes, sizes and textures in-

cluding coloured straws, foam carrots, plastic eggs, fluffy

chickens, and a few others.

Evelyn dug through the straw and picked out a pink

plastic egg and a pink chicken. Evelyn then squeezed the

plastic egg open and placed the fluffy pink chicken inside.

She was so excited to show Miss Meagan and Miss Taylah

what she had done!

Olivia enjoyed throwing the straw up in the air and wait-

ing for it to land on top of her, this made Olivia giggle.

Mikayla was a little unsure of the coloured stray but

soon enough she got involved and began throwing it up

on the air just like Olivia! Mikayla enjoyed digging

through the straw, searching for the little carrots and

baby chickens!

Spencer was so excited to be involved in the tough tray,

he was straight into digging through the straw, picking

up all the little chickens and carrots!

Peter rabbit touch and feel book. Evelyn, Mikayla, Olivia and Spencer took turns

in exploring the Peter Rabbit touch and feel

book this morning. As we flipped each of the

pages, there was a different texture, the

textures we explored were soft, smooth, fluffy

and rough textures throughout the book.

Mikayla and Olivia both enjoyed exploring the

different textures by using the tips of their

fingers to feel. Spencer was more interested in

flipping each of the pages, finishing off the book

and continuing to start from the start. Evelyn

was so excited to explore the book, listening to

Miss Meagan’s voice as she read the story.
