His Excellency, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President of the Republic of Ghana He was elected President of Ghana and has been in office since January 2017. His Excellency, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President of the Republic of Ghana

He was elected President of Ghana and has been in office since January 2017.

Akufo-Addo also served as Chair of the Commonwealth Observer Mission for

the South African elections in 2014. He previously served as Attorney General

from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007

under the Kufuor led administration.

He graduated as an economist from the University of Ghana in 1964. A

graduate of the Oxford University, he practiced law in England and France

before returning to Ghana.

Bill Gates

Co-Chair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Bill Gates is co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Along with co-

chair Melinda Gates, he shapes and approves grantmaking strategies,

advocates for the foundation’s issues, and helps set the overall direction of the

organization.

Bill began his major philanthropic efforts in 1994, when he created the

William H. Gates Foundation, which focused on global health. Three years

later, he and Melinda created the Gates Library Foundation, which worked to

bring public access computers with Internet connections to libraries in the

United States. Its name changed to the Gates Learning Foundation in 1999. In

2000, to increase efficiency and communication, the two groups merged into

the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In 1975, Gates left Harvard University in his junior year to focus on Microsoft,

the company he founded with his childhood friend Paul Allen. In July 2008,

Gates transitioned into a new role as chairman of Microsoft and advisor on

some key development projects.

He is a member of the board of directors of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Sola David-Borha

CEO Africa Regions, Standard Bank Group

Sola David-Borha is the Chief Executive of Africa Regions for Standard Bank

Group since 2017. She served as Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC holdings

until January 2017 having also served as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer

and Executive Director Corporate and Investment Banking Coverage for

Africa.

She was Chief Executive Stanbic IBTC Bank from May 2011 to November

2012.

Ms. David-Borha has led and sat on various boards including being the former

Vice Chairman for the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, subsidiaries of the

Stanbic IBTC and Standard Bank Groups, Coca-Cola HBG AG, and many

others.

She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a Bachelor of

Science in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She has

attended the Harvard Advanced Management Programme (AMP) Business

School and global CEO program (IESE, Wharton, CEIBS).

Sarah Cliffe

Director, New York University’s Center on International Cooperation

Sarah F. Cliffe is currently the director of New York University’s Center on

International Cooperation. Prior to that, she was the Special Representative for

the World Bank’s World Development Report on Conflict, Security and

Development, and the Special Adviser and Assistant Secretary-General of

Civilian Capacities to the United Nations.

Cliffe has worked for the last twenty years in countries emerging from conflict

and political transition. At the World Bank, her work has covered post-conflict

reconstruction, community driven development, and civil service reform.

Cliffe has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme in

Rwanda, the Government of South Africa, and the Congress of South African

Trade Unions, as well as for a major management consultancy company in the

United Kingdom on public sector reform issues.

Cliffe has a Bachelor’s degree in history from Cambridge’s University and a

Master’s degree in international relations and international economic policy

from Columbia University.

Keven P. Gallagher

Professor of Global Development Policy and Director, Global Development

Policy Center, Boston University

Dr. Kevin P. Gallagher is a professor of global development policy at Boston

University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, where he directs

the Global Development Policy Center.

Gallagher is the author or co-author of six books. He serves on the United

Nations’ Committee for Development Policy and co-chairs the T-20 Task

Force on International Financial Architecture at the G-20. He previously

served on the investment sub-committee of the Advisory Committee on

International Economic Policy at the US Department of State and on the

National Advisory Committee at the Environmental Protection Agency.

Gallagher has been a visiting or adjunct professor at the Paul Nitze School of

Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, the Fletcher

School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University; El Colegio de Mexico in

Mexico; Tsinghua University in China, and the Center for State and Society in

Argentina.

Gallagher holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University, a Master in

International Environmental Policy and a PhD in International Political

Economy from Tufts University.

Irene Ovonji-Odida

Independent Commissioner, ICRICT & member, Pan African Lawyers Union

IFFs Task Force. Formerly member AU/ECA High Level Panel on IFFs (Mbeki

HLP) & International Board Chair, ActionAid International

Irene Ovonji-Odida is currently a member of the Illicit Financial Flows Task

Force Pan African Lawyers Union, Tax Steering Group South Centre and

Independent Commission ICRICT.

As CEO of the Uganda Women Lawyers Association from 2013 – 2018, she

repositioned it as a strong force for women’s human rights, social justice and

the Rule of Law. Irene Ovonji-Odida was appointed to the AU/ UNECA High

Level Panel on Illicit Financial flows from 2012-2015.

As a regional MP in East African Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006,

she led initiatives for regional conflict resolution and effective oversight by

African legislators in trade negotiations. From 1994-2001 she worked in key

government agencies which anchored major national initiatives.

Ovonji-Odida has been a leader in civil society since 1988 in the women’s and

human rights movements. She has been a member of national and international

boards and was international board chair of ActionAid International and also a

member of the African Advisory Board of The ONE Foundation. She has

authored or contributed to publications on women’s land rights in Uganda,

constitutionalism and East African regional integration.

Irene Ovonji-Odida holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Jurisprudence

from Howard University, USA.

Sneha Sanghrajka Shah

Global Head of Risk Managed Services at Refinitiv

In her current role as Global Head of Risk Managed Services, Ms. Shah is

responsible for the profitable and sustainable growth of Refinitiv’s Know Your

Customer, Screening Resolution Services, Client Onboarding and Enhanced

Due Diligence Businesses.

Prior to Refinitiv, she was appointed Managing Director of Africa for

Thomson Reuters in April 2015, and led all of the Financial, Risk, Tax and

Legal businesses across the region.

Ms. Shah joined Thomson Reuters in 2001 in New York and held several

global leadership roles across the Financial and Media business units in

operations, product development and technology before moving back to South

Africa to lead the Financial and Risk business for Thomson Reuters across

Africa in 2013.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, she was a Commodities Trader for Cargill

in South Africa and traded money markets and foreign exchange at CFC Bank

in Kenya. Sneha holds a BA (Hons) degree in Politics with International

Studies from the University of Warwick.

Matthew Bishop

Managing Director, Bellagio and Fellows Program Global Policy and Advocacy,

the Rockefeller Foundation

Matthew Bishop joined The Rockefeller Foundation after spending nearly 30

years at The Economist serving as the Economist U.S. Business Editor and

New York Bureau Chief. Previously, he was the London based business editor.

Along with serving as a writer and editor at The Economist, Bishop co-

founded the Social Progress Index, helped to launch the #GivingTuesday

campaign, and was a member of the G8 Taskforce on Social Impact Investing.

He is the co-author of several books, including Philanthrocapitalism: How

Giving Can Save the World and The Road From Ruin.

Before joining The Economist, Bishop was on the faculty of London Business

Executive Director, Jubilee USA Network

Eric LeCompte is the Executive Director of Jubilee USA Network, a

development coalition of more than 650 religious groups and US organizations.

He is a member of expert working groups to the United Nations Conference on

Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Human Rights

Office of the High Commissioner.

LeCompte serves on boards of faith-based, development and financial

transparency organizations. He is a member of the executive board of the

Financial Accountability and Corporate Transparency (FACT) Coalition.

LeCompte is the former national council chair of Pax Christi USA. He also

previously worked for the School of the Americas Watch, Catholic Worker

and Fellowship of Reconciliation.

Gita Gopinath

Chief Economist, IMF

Gita Gopinath is the Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research

Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She is on leave of

public service from Harvard University’s Economics department where she is

the John Zwaanstra Professor of International Studies and of Economics.

She is the co-editor of the current Handbook of International Economics and

was earlier the co-editor of the American Economic Review and managing

editor of the Review of Economic Studies. She had also previously served as

the co-director of the International Finance and Macroeconomics program at

the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a visiting scholar at the

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and member of the economic advisory panel

of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. From 2016-18, she was the

Economic Adviser to the Chief Minister of Kerala state in India.

Gopinath is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

and of the Econometric Society. In 2019, Foreign Policy named her one of the

Top Global Thinkers, in 2014, she was named one of the top 25 economists

under 45 by the IMF and in 2011 she was chosen a Young Global Leader

(YGL) by the World Economic Forum.

She received her Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University in 2001 after

earning a B.A. from Lady Shri Ram College and M.A. degrees from Delhi

School of Economics and University of Washington.

Rebeca Grynspan

SG, Ibero-American General Secretariat

Rebeca Grynspan took office as Ibero-American Secretary-General on 2014

and her mandate was renewed for a further four-year term in 2018.

In 2010 she was named Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations (UN)

and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Program

(UNDP). From 2006 to 2010, she was UNDP Regional Director for Latin

America and the Caribbean.

Prior to joining the UN, Grynspan served as Vice-President of Costa Rica from

1994 to 1998. She was also Minister of Housing, Minister Coordinator of

Economic and Social Affairs, and Deputy Minister of Finance.

She has been actively involved in key United Nations initiatives, such as the

Millennium Project’s Task Force on Poverty and Economic Development and

the High-level Panel on Financing for Development.

Grynspan holds a degree in Economics by the University of Costa Rica and a

MSc in Economics by the University of Sussex. She has been awarded a

Doctorate Honoris Causa by the University of Salamanca, the University of

Extremadura and the European University of Madrid in recognition of her

professional career.

Baba Yusuf Musa

DG, West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management

Mr. Baba Y. Musa is currently Director General of the West African Institute

for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) a capacity building

institution owned by the Anglophone Central Banks of West Africa,

headquarters in Lagos Nigeria. Previously, Dr Musa has held the position of

Director, Debt Management Department at WAIFEM from 2006 - 2018.

Prior to joining WAIFEM, Musa had a 21-year stint at the Central Bank of

Nigeria, where he worked in both the Research and the International Economic

Relations Departments.

Over the last 23 years, Mr. Musa has been facilitating debt management

training and capacity building activities of public sector officials in West

Africa and beyond. Musa had served for 5 years (2008 - 2013) as a member of

the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the World Bank Debt

Management Facility and was Chairman of the Implementation Coordination

Group (ICG) of the World Bank Debt Management Facility from 2016-2019.

He is an adviser on debt management to some state governments in Nigeria.

He has many publications and partnered and facilitated debt management

capacity building activities in Africa and beyond with many international

organisations such as IMF, World Bank UNCTAD, UNITAR and African

Capacity Building Foundation. He is currently a council member of Nigerian

Economic Society and holds B.Sc Degree in Economics, master’s in Business

Gillian Tett

Chairman of Editorial Board (US) and Editor at large, Financial Times

Gillian Tett is chair of the editorial board and editor-at-large, US of the

Financial Times. She writes weekly columns, covering a range of economic,

financial, political and social issues.

In 2014, she was named Columnist of the Year in the British Press Awards and

was the first recipient of the Royal Anthropological Institute Marsh Award. In

June 2009 her book Fool’s Gold won Financial Book of the Year at the

inaugural Spear’s Book Awards.

Tett’s past roles at the FT have included US managing editor, assistant editor,

capital markets editor, deputy editor of the Lex column, Tokyo bureau chief,

and a reporter in Russia and Brussels.

Tharman Shanmugaratnam

Senior Minister of the Republic of Singapore and Chair of the G20 Eminent

Persons Group on Global Financial Governance

Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam was appointed Senior Minister on 1 May 2019.

He is also Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and advises the Prime

Minister on economic policies. He had previously served, from 2011, as

Deputy Prime Minister.

He is concurrently the Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore

(MAS), Singapore’s central bank and financial regulator. In addition to his

responsibilities in the Government, he is Deputy Chairman of GIC and chairs

its Investment Strategies Committee.

Tharman chairs the Group of Thirty, an independent global council of

economic and financial leaders. He also chaired the G20 Eminent Persons

Group on Global Financial Governance. He earlier led the International

Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) for four years from 2011. He

currently also co-chairs the Advisory Board for the UN’s 2019 Human

Development Report and serves on the World Economic Forum’s Board of

Trustees.

Tharman has spent his working life in public service, in roles principally

related to economic and social policies.

He studied at the London School of Economics and Cambridge University. He

later obtained a Master’s in Public Administration at Harvard University,

where he was named a Lucius N Littauer Fellow.

David Lipton

Acting Managing Director, IMF

David Lipton was appointed Acting Managing Director of the International

Monetary Fund on July 2, 2019. He assumed the position of First Deputy

Managing Director on 2011 and was reappointed for a second five-year term

beginning September 1, 2016.

Before coming to the Fund, Lipton was Special Assistant to the President, and

served as Senior Director for International Economic Affairs at the National

Economic Council and National Security Council at the White House.

Previously, Lipton was a Managing Director at Citi, where he was Head of

Global Country Risk Management. Prior to joining Citi in May 2005, he spent

five years at Moore Capital Management, a global hedge fund and, before that,

a year at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Lipton served in the Clinton administration at the Treasury Department from

1993 to 1998. Before joining the Clinton administration, Lipton was a fellow

at the Woodrow Wilson Center of Scholars. From 1989 to 1992, he teamed up

with Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, working as economic advisers to the governments of

Russia, Poland and Slovenia during their transitions to capitalism.

Lipton began his career with eight years on the staff of the International

Monetary Fund, working on economic stabilization issues in emerging market

and poor countries. He earned a PhD. and M.A. from Harvard University in

1982 and a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1975.

Frank Elderson

Executive Director of Supervision, Netherlands Bank

Frank Elderson has been an Executive Director of Supervision at DNB since 1

July 2011. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central

Bank.

Elderson holds several secondary positions. He has chaired the Central Banks

and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) since

2018 and the Sustainable Finance Platform since 2016. He has also chaired the

FEC Board since 2016, the Supervisory Board of the Dutch Reading

Foundation since 2017 and the Management Board of the Nederlands

Vioolconcours Foundation since 2016. Before joining the Governing Board,

Elderson served as DNB's General Counsel (2008-2011). He was the Director

of the Legal Services Division (2007) and Head of the ABN AMRO

Supervision Department (2006).

After joining DNB in 1999, Elderson held various management positions in

the Legal Services Division, as well as representing DNB on various working

groups of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). He started his

professional career in 1995 as a lawyer with Houthoff Advocaten & Notarissen.

Elderson earned his degree in Dutch law at the University of Amsterdam in

1994. He obtained an LLM degree from Columbia Law School, in the United

States, in 1995. Frank Elderson was sworn in as a lawyer in the Netherlands in

1995.

Akinwumi Adesina

President, African Development Bank Group

Dr. Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina was elected President of the African

Development Bank Group in 2015. He previously served as Nigeria’s Minister

of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Adesina was Vice-President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa

(AGRA) and Associate Director at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York,

where he worked for a decade in senior leadership positions, including as

Regional Office Director and Representative for Southern Africa.

Dr. Adesina was Principal Economist for the International Institute of Tropical

Agriculture, Principal Economist and Coordinator of the West Africa Rice

Economics Task Force at the West Africa Rice Development Association and

Assistant Principal Economist at the International Crop Research Institute for

the Semi-Arid Tropics. He was also the President of the African Association of

Agricultural Economists.

Dr. Adesina has a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the

University of Ife, Nigeria, and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Purdue

University in the United States, where he won the Outstanding PhD Thesis

Award. He also won the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation Social Science

Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 1988.

Anne Finucane

Vice Chair and CEO of Bank of America

Anne M. Finucane is vice chairman at Bank of America and also serves as

chairman of the board of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Europe. As a

member of the executive management team, Finucane is responsible for the

strategic positioning of Bank of America and leads the company’s

environmental, social and governance (ESG), capital deployment, and public

policy efforts.

Active in the community, Finucane serves on a variety of corporate and

nonprofit boards of directors including Carnegie Hall, the National September

11 Memorial & Museum, The Ireland Funds, the World Bank Group’s Women

Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), CVS Health, Brigham and Women’s

Hospital, Partners Healthcare, and Special Olympics. She served on the U.S.

State Department’s Foreign Affairs Policy board and is a member of the

Council on Foreign Relations.

Finucane has received numerous professional and public service accolades.

Most recently, she was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame. She has

been named to Fortune’s Most Powerful Women and Forbes’ Most Powerful

Women lists, and American Banker magazine annually names her among the

25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.

Mark Wiseman

Chairman, BlackRock Alternative Investors

Mark Wiseman is Global Head of Active Equities for BlackRock and

Chairman of BlackRock Alternative Investors. A Senior Managing Director,

he also serves as Chairman of the firm’s Global Investment Committee and on

its Global Executive Committee.

Wiseman joined BlackRock in 2016 from the Canada Pension Plan Investment

Board (CPPIB) where he served as its President and CEO since 2012. Before

becoming CEO, Wiseman was Executive Vice-President, Investments, for

CPPIB. He joined CPPIB in June 2005 as Senior Vice-President, Private

Investments.

Prior to joining CPPIB, Wiseman was responsible for the private equity fund

and co-investment program at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. He has

worked as an officer with Harrowston Inc. and as a lawyer with Sullivan &

Cromwell, where he practiced in New York and Paris. He also served as a law

clerk to Madam Justice Beverley McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Wiseman earned a Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University as well as a law

degree and an MBA from the University of Toronto. He also was a Fulbright

Scholar at Yale University, where he obtained a Master of Laws degree.

Wiseman is a regular lecturer at the Harvard Business School and an adjunct

professor at Tsinghua University.

Maurice Tulloch

CEO, Aviva

On 4 March 2019 Maurice Tulloch was appointed as Chief Executive Officer

of Aviva plc.

Tulloch joined Aviva in 1992 and was most recently Chief Executive Officer

International Insurance and Chairman of Global General Insurance. He joined

the Board of Aviva plc as an Executive Director on 20 June 2017.

Previously Tulloch was Chief Executive Officer of Aviva UK and Ireland

General Insurance. Prior to that, he was President and Chief Executive Officer

of Aviva Canada. Prior to that he was Executive Vice-President and Chief

Julie Hanna

Julie Hanna has been a Kiva board member since 2009. She is an entrepreneur,

investor and advisor working with purpose-driven, technology companies to

solve humanity’s greatest challenges. In 2015, President Obama appointed her

Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship to help develop the next

generation of entrepreneurs.

Serving in roles that ranged from founding executive to founder and CEO,

Hanna has pioneered products and led companies that have allowed millions of

people to connect, communicate and collaborate globally. Among them,

Healtheon (now WebMD), onebox.com (now Unwired Planet), Portola

(acquired by Netscape) and open source pioneer, Scalix.

Hanna is an internationally acclaimed speaker and advocate for the

democratizing potential of technology to enable a more just world at scale. In

recognition of her vision and global impact on economic and social progress,

Hanna was named the United States Woman Icon of APEC and is a recipient

Eric Xiandong Jing

Executive chairman and CEO, Ant Financial Services Group

Eric Jing has been Ant Financial’s CEO since October 2016 and its Chairman

since April 2018. He also serves on the boards of Alibaba Group and Paytm,

the leading payments platform in India, in addition to serving as chairman of

the board of MYbank.

Under Eric Jing’s leadership, Ant Financial has forged strategic partnerships

around the world with Paytm in India, KakaoPay in Korea, Ascend Money in

Thailand, Mynt in the Philippines and Emtek in Indonesia.

As part of Ant Financial’s financial inclusion mission, Eric Jing serves as a

senior consultant of the World Bank’s Identification for Development, as well

as a senior consultant for the World Economic Forum.

Prior to assuming the role of CEO, he held various management positions at

Ant Financial, including President and COO. He also served as CFO of Alipay

and in other leadership positions at Alibaba Group. Before joining Alibaba in

2007, he was CFO of Pepsi-Cola Guangzhou and held various management

positions at Swire Coca-Cola.

Eric Jing received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the College of

Economics & Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and earned an

Executive MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of

Minnesota.

Michael Sabia

President and CEO of the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec

President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2009, Michael Sabia is

responsible for the strategic direction of CDPQ and the global growth of the

organization.

Before joining CDPQ, he was with BCE, holding such positions as President

and Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating

Officer, and Chief Executive Officer of Bell Canada International. From 1993

to 1999, he occupied various roles with Canadian National Railway, including

Chief Financial Officer. He spent the preceding decade working as a senior

official in the Government of Canada.

Sabia is a member of the Canadian government’s Advisory Council on

Economic Growth. He is a trustee of the Foreign Policy Association of New

York and a member of the Canada-Mexico Leadership Group and the Asia

Business Leaders Advisory Council. Sabia is an Officer of the Order of

Canada.

Sabia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics and politics from the

University of Toronto and holds graduate degrees in economics and politics

from Yale University.
