Centrally located in the Upper King Street district of Historic Downtown Charleston, South Carolina the Charleston Music Hall is an outstanding venue for corporate functions. The Hall is conveniently located next door to two award-winning hotels and five nationally acclaimed restaurants. Combine this with popular shopping destinations, museums, and three public parking garages located within two blocks of the venue and you get the perfect Charleston setting for any event.

The building was designed by Charleston architect Edward C. Jones and built in 1850 as a train station. In 1995 the Bennett-Hofford Company facilitated the Hall’s amazing transformation into an arts

venue and event space. Since opening its doors, the Music Hall has hosted a myriad of acts from the annual Charleston Christmas Special to world-renowned performers such as David Byrne to corporate functions, awards ceremonies, and presentations, such as Benefit Focus’ annual One Place.

This versatile space combines historical elegance with modern functionality. FEATURES OF THE CHARLESTON MUSIC HALLWe appreaciate your consideration of the Charleston Music Hall for your upcoming event. The following information is designed to assist in the planning of your event.

THE SPACEThe Main Hall seats 967 (637 downstairs |330 balcony) and can be sectioned off to accomodate events of differing sizes. Evoking a sense of grandeur and beauty along with intimacy and functionality this is the heart of the Music Hall.

The Upstairs Foyer can accomodate 100 guests for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and mingling.

The Backstage includes three dressing rooms with full baths, and a private green room.

THE TECHNOLOGYThe Technicians in house are some of the best in the industry. Full tech specifications are available upon request.

The Stage is 40’ x 30’ with a flyable main curtain

The Box Office, run by ETIX, can serve any of your ticekting needs.

High-speed internet is available free of charge throughout the building.

THE FEATURESParking is easy with a garage connected to the Charleston Music Hall. There are two more garages within two blocks.

The Concessions area is fully equiped with snacks, wine, and beer.

Catering is handled by our sister company, Good Food Catering.

Handicap Accessibility is on either side of the first floor.

Non-Smoking regulations keeps the air clean inside.

UPSTAIRS AT RUE DE JEANThis 250-capacity, private event space, features vaulted cielings, exposed brick, and a private entrance that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as an additional break out space/meeting area.

UPSTAIRS AT VIRGINIA’S ON KINGThis 45-capacity, intimate space is perfect for VIP meetings and smaller meals with clientele. Specializing in traditional southern fare, Virginia’s is a perfect way to taste the lowcountry during a corporate event.

GOOD FOOD CATERINGGood Food catering allows you to transform your break out sessions and meals into memorable experiences. An acclaimed catering company known for world class food, ambience, and service. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner options available for any event.

EMBASSY SUITES & HAMPTON INNThe Embassy Suites offers five meeting rooms that range from 10-200 person capacity and come equipped with full AV, and an atrium that can host events up to 400. You can also reserve a block of rooms for your event.



COAST BAR AND GRILLServing up Charleston’s finest seafood, Coast is closed for lunch, making it a great option for a private lunch or break-out room. Coast is dedicated to serving the freshest local ingredients.
