Historical Fiction as History?

There is a plethora of historical fiction and historical films being produced each year. But why? Are they a reliable source of information? Should we, as lifelong learners use these sources to interpret the world around us, or do we need to reference additional sources to provide a well-rounded understanding of history? Directions: Your task is to answer the question, to what extent can historical fiction be used to understand a historical event? Your response must include specific examples focusing on the Challenges of Colonialism, and will be presented in an infographic.
