Hitler’s EmpireHow the Nazis Ruled Europe

Laura Kwan

The Third Reich Also known as: The Greater German Reich or Nazi Germany

The state of Germany from 1933 to 1945, when it was a totalitarian dictatorship ruled by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party.

Had a commitment to racial theory as the basis of law and administration.

Based its policy on biological racism. Set rigid guidelines when it came to Jews that had almost no exceptions.

Kaiser Wilhelm The Reich’s former command-in-chief.

The Kaiser and Hitler shared the same focus upon eastern Europe as the critical zone for national security, the same obsession with land, colonization and racial settlement.

He believed that expanding Germany’s borders was necessary to achieve safety in a world of constant struggle.

He saw Bolshevism as a worldwide Jewish anti-German plot which demanded ruthless opposition: pushing for military-policing operations to wipe out the Bolsheviks.

Kaiser Wilhelm died at age 82, less than a month before his second ware against Bolshevism began.

“Camps” During the reign of the

Third Reich, they had established numerous “camps” where they would send their “prisoners.”

The types of camps included internment, labor and transit camps, extermination centers, and concentration camps.

These camps were inhumane and are disturbing to even read about.

It is estimated that of the 1.65 million inmates of camps, less than 475,000 survived the war.

The Schutzstaffel The Schutzstaffel, or the SS,

was a major paramilitary organization under Hitler.

The way they operated and the way they treated Jews and Slavs was not much different than the actual German military, only Hitler had more trust in their abilities to take the measures he had in mind.

The SS tortured countless numbers of innocent people. They followed out the orders of Hitler with unwavering loyalty.
