1929 1960 Founder ShinjiroYasuda Born on April 15, 1894. Founded the “Strong Shokai Company” in 1929 in Osaka. Started the cylinder boring business in a small factory of only three people. 1954 Developed the cylinder boring machine Type 102 (small engine repair). 1939 Developed the first boring machine. 1961 Developed the automatic honing machine. 1958 Developed the cylinder boring machine Type 110 (ship engine repair). 1968 Developed the YMC180 ACRATOUR (Large-size machining center). 1970 Developed the Production Center YPC50 (machining center). 1964 Developed the Jig Master (precision horizontal boring/milling machine). 1966 Developed the first NC (numerical control) machine YBM80NR. Start-up and Boring Machine Period 1929-1958 1933 The company developed automobile engine pistons for spare parts for the first time in Japan. Production of engine pistons by non-car manufacturer was a remarkable event in history. 1939 Shinjiro Yasuda reorganized the small work shop into the company “Strong Shokai Co., Ltd.” 1944 The factory was re-located to Kasaoka-cho, Oda-gun Okayama prefecture (present Kasaoka city) for evacuation during the World War II. Pioneer days of machining centers 1960~1972 1960 The company became a member of the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association. 1961 The assembly plant was completed. 1962 The small and medium enterprise agency designated the company as a “model factory of high rationalization”. Thereafter the company was nominated six times consecutively. A part of Sasayama factory at headquarters was completed and it started operation. The laboratory for new product development was established in Tomioka factory. 1968 The first and second phases of the Sasayama factory construction were completed. 1969 The main factory was moved to Satosho-cho, Asaguchi-gun, Okayama, where the former Sasayama factory was located. The tools and service departments were separated and then “YASDA engineering service” was founded in Tomioka factory. 1970 For the technical development of boring machine Shinjiro Yasda received the order of the rising sun, gold and silver rays from the government. The company closed the technology partnership agreement with the company Sundstrand for the spindle tool supporting mechanism and tools. 1971 The company received the Good Company Award formerly known as the award of the medium and small Business Research Insti 1972 2000 1976 Developed the Precision Center YBM90N (medium-size machining center). 1981 Developed the horizontal jig boring machine YBM100J. 1989 Developed the preload       self-adjusting spindle. 1977 Developed the Production Center YPC45 (small-size machining center). 1988 Developed the machining center YBM900N. 1988 Developed the CNC jig borer YBM8120V. 1984 Developed the machining center YBM120N. 1986 Developed the CNC jig borer YBM850V. 1992 Developed the 5-axis machining center YBM900N-TT. 1992 Developed the machining center YBM700N. 1992 Developed the machining center YBM1000N. 1994 Developed the machining center YBM600N. 1994 Developed the machining cent YBM640V. 1996 Developed the machining center YBM660N. 1996 Developed the machining center H30. 1998 Developed the CNC jig borer YBM1218V. 1998 Developed the CNC gear grinding machine GT30. ny own Institute.
