The Headworks Integrated Treatment (HIT) Process Moving Bed Biolm Reactor (MBBR)

is a biolm wastewater treatment process. In the MBBR process, the microorganisms grow in

biolms attached to plastic biocarriers. The biocarriers move reely, suspended in the liquid o the

reactor or basin. Efuent screens, reerred to as sieves, keep the biocarriers in the reactor.

    Headworks Integrated Treatment

    [HIT] Process offers proven

    technology for treating your

    wastewater for reuse within a

    very small footprint.

A Screened Inuent enters system rom headworks fne screen

B Blower supplies mixing energy and process air

C Anoxic reactor or removal o total nitrogen commonly called de-nitrifcation (DNIT)

D Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) reduction reactor

E and F Nitrifcation (NIT) to reduce the ammonia limits and prepare the recycle stream

G Return ow back to the anoxic unit C or de-nitrifcation

H Clarifcation ollows the treatment process to remove suspended solids rom

the treated wastewater (e.g.: DAF, Lamella settler, etc.)

I Optional tertiary treatment (e.g.: UV disinection, sand flter etc.)
