Feature overview

• Customized built-in batch processes – A customized menu in New Dynamics AX allows the CSR to import-export

records without using any additional/external Integration Application. The batch processes are built into New Dynamics

AX.

• Bi-directional communication between New Dynamics AX and Manager Panel – The Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce

Manager Panel and New Dynamics AX communicate with each such that customer, address, sales order, invoice and

catalog records are imported and exported between them.

• Sign up for Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce from New Dynamics AX – Merchants with existing New Dynamics AX can

sign up for Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce via New Dynamics AX. A web store and Manager Panel complete with sample

data is available with this sign up.


Import customer record from Manager Panel to New Dynamics AX

It is possible to import the customer records from the Manager Panel to New Dynamics AX using the import functionality. The AX user queries the customer record to be imported and then clicks ‘Import’. Upon successful importing of records, the customer is not displayed in the query table. In case of import error, the AX user can check the Integration Logs and rectify the error before attempting to import the customer once again.

Integrated complete customer recordThe customer details as they appear in the Manager Panel are synced with New Dynamics AX. The username is displayed as ‘Search Name’ in New Dynamics AX.

Data in syncUpon integration the complete customer record is visible in New Dynamics AX. This ensures that the Manager Panel and New Dynamics AX databases are in sync for smooth processing of transactions.


Export customer record from New Dynamics AX to Manager Panel

Whenever a new customer is created in New Dynamics AX, or an existing customer modified, it can be exported to the Manager Panel using the scheduled built-in batch process in New Dynamics AX. It is also possible to run the process manually. The exported customer is displayed on the web store and the Manager Panel.


Import Addresses from Manager Panel to New Dynamics AX

It is possible to integrate the entire address book from the Manager Panel to New Dynamics AX. The AX user queries and selects the addresses that are to be imported. Clicking ‘Import’ completes the import process. In case of import failure, the error is logged in the Integration Logs.

Primary and additional addressesIntegrate entire address book Primary address specified in the Manager Panel is mapped in New Dynamics AX during address import. Any additional addresses imported to New Dynamics AX are populated as shipping address.


Export address from New Dynamics AX to Manager Panel

Similar to address import, customer addresses can also be exported from New Dynamics AX to the Manager Panel. The Address export functionality brings the customer’s addresses (all new and modified) to the Manager Panel. Just as in the case of customer export, address export can run using scheduled built-in batch process in New Dynamics AX or runs manually. The exported address is displayed on the web store and the Manager Panel.


Export inventory base price to the Manager Panel

Inventory base price for a particular item can be updated and exported to the Manager Panel via the batch process, or run manually as well. The inventory export functionality updates the base price on the web store and the Manager Panel for all customers with or without logging into the web store.


Export customer specific price to the Manager Panel

The inventory export functionality can also be used to update special prices for specific customers. A trade agreement is created in New Dynamics AX with the customer and price details and exported manually or via a built in batch process. The modified price is available to the customer when he logs in to the web store or when a CSR places an order for him via the Manager Panel.


It is also possible to assign a price different from the base price for all customers with a trade agreement in New Dynamics AX. Such price can be created during festive seasons, sales etc. The inventory price export facility is used to export the modified price to the Manager Panel. You can run the process manually or via a batch process.

Export quantity based pricing to the Manager Panel

You can assign specific prices for defined quantities of products in New Dynamics AX, and export the same to the Manager Panel using the inventory price export functionality. When a customer selects the defined number of products, the assigned price for that quantity will be applicable to his sales order. The quantity specific prices are displayed on the web store upon exporting.


Export price for all price groups to the Manager Panel

Price group specific prices for specific products can also be exported from New Dynamics AX to the Manager Panel using the inventory price export functionality. The modified price can be exported manually or using the in built batch process. This price is then displayed on the web store and Manager Panel.


Export inventory quantity from New Dynamics AX to Manager Panel

Inventory quantity of any item created/modified in new Dynamics AX can also be exported to the Manager Panel manually or via a scheduled built in batch process. The exported quantity is displayed on the web store and the Manager Panel.


It is possible to import sales orders placed in the Manager Panel or the web store to New Dynamics AX. Complete sales order details such as item ordered, quantity, unit price, sales amount, requested shipping date, shipping, billing, sales tax and order totals etc. are imported upon querying the sales orders and clicking ‘Import’. Only order with status ‘Being Processed (Queued)’ would appear in queue when queried in New Dynamics AX.

Export invoice from New Dynamics AX to the Manager Panel

Once the sales order has been imported to New Dynamics AX, the CSR generates the invoice for that order in New Dynamics AX. The pick, pack and invoice process is automated, or you can also undertake each step manually. The invoice is exported to the Manager Panel using the invoice export facility. The invoice is reflected in the Manager Panel and web store and can be settled by the CSR or customer.


Whenever a pending payment against a sales order is processed in the Manager Panel, it can be imported to New Dynamics AX manually or via scheduled built in batch process. Once the process completes, the payment against an order is reflected in New Dynamics AX.

All import – export logs for customer, address, inventory, sales order and invoice are recorded in the Integration Log. The integration log is available to the AX user to refer to for any errors that may occur.

• Merchants can also sign up for a free trial of Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce from New Dynamics AX.

• To allow greater ease of installation for the customer, Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce with New Dynamics AX has been deployed on Microsoft Lifecycle Services (LCS) along with a complete guide to setting up the Manager Panel and web store.

• The merchant needs to provide only his login credentials, email and company name to sign up. When a merchant signs up online, the web store and Manager Panel are created complete with sample data for customers, orders, catalog, etc.
