Prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You

are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things,

and I desire You with all my heart. Since I cannot now receive

You sacramentally, I ask you to come spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already in my heart and unite myself to You completely.

Please do not let me ever be separated from You.

Amen.

3 Dear parishioners and visitors,

This weekend is Father’s Day in the United States, and we extend best wishes to all celebrating it. It is so important to have a good father-figure in a fami-ly. It is very complementary to have both a father and mother raising their children for they have their strengths and help each other in their weakness-es. We extend our congratulations to all present with us this weekend at the Masses with their fami-lies!

A great role-model for fathers is St. Joseph, the hus-band of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster-father of the Child Jesus. Even though we do not know much about him, he was very caring for his family and fulfilled God’s plan by protecting them. Even though there is no recorded word in sa-cred scripture that he uttered, his actions spoke loudly.

Also, we extend our best wishes to the students who graduated from Prairie Catholic School this past Fri-day evening. This year was much shorter than planned due to the coronavirus. The celebration was on the solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. We hope and pray for big things from them. May the Lord watch over them and protect them from all harm.

Thank you, and God bless you.

Msgr. Stoetzel

This is another update to show parishioners where we are in reaching our goal for the 2019 Diocesan Annual Appeal which is $59,310.00. As of June 16th, were moving at a snail’s pace getting closer to the target and are at 86.08% of our goal in pledges; $8,255.00 yet to be. This comes from only 251 parish envelope holders out of 753. For those who have not, please make your pledge and payment to help us achieve and exceed our target. We need the sup-port of all parishioners to make this successful. If the balance is not met by June 30th, it will become a bill which has to be paid.

Every week we are looking for volunteers for Eu-charistic Ministers and Lectors. We need one lec-tor and one Eucharistic Minister for each Mass on the weekend. Please call the rectory at St. John’s (326-6511) to volunteer.

Plus we need volunteers to sanitize St. John’s Church after the 4:00 pm Mass on Saturday and the 8:00 am Mass on Sunday. Two persons are needed which should take one half hour. If you can help, please call the parish office (326-6511) and leave your name & phone number. Thank you.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: The PCCW will be meeting on Thursday, July 2nd at 5:15 pm in the Fel-lowship Hall at St. John’s.

I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the get well cards I received during my 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital. I am even more thank-ful for the prayers you offered during this time. Receiving the cards and knowing that you were praying for me was a huge encour-agement during my worst days. Please keep the prayers coming as I have not yet healed and may face a difficult surgery later in the summer.
