I am indeed happy that our college Newsletter

Volume 8 going to publish. Newsletter is like a

treasure through which we can find a considerable

number of winners and participants in co-curricular

and extracurricular activities which certainly prove

that our students are adequately equipped and

possess necessary skillsets to bring such laurels to the department.

Kaizen Club

The Kaizen which initially started as

“information security club” was strengthened

and inaugurated as “Kaizen club” on September

20 2018. Many events were conducted in the

club where around 70 students of 1st, 3rd, 5th

and 7th semester, Department of Computer

Science participated in the workshop and were

benefitted from it.

RAISE Club

The “RAISE CLUB” inaugurated on 28-08-

2018. The objectives of the club are peer teaching

which reinforce one’s own leadership by

instructing others, to exchange knowledge to

learn and develop skills, to respect others talent.

The events conducted were Code-O-Fiesta

(Code Debugging), InQuizitive (Technical

Quiz), Jumanji (Treasure Hunt), Snap Byte

(Photography), Tech Mish Mosh (Technical

Collage), Code Wars, NFS PC Gaming,

Counter Strike PC Gaming, PUBG Mobile Gaming,

Beg borrow steal, Xception (A Mock Placement

Selection Event) & Engineering Eye. The symposium

had a total of around 800 participations from different

OVERLOAD++.Which is conducted

on 26 October 2018. Chapter Name – Bangalore

Chapter, Region V.

SDP on “Entrepreneurship and start-up” was organized

for 5th semester CSE students by Department of CSE on

Thursday, the 25th October 2018 in CSE Seminar Hall.

The Objective of the SDP was to add value to the subject

“Management and entrepreneurship for IT industry,”

which is offered as core subject to 5thSem CSE students

and also to equip the students to have an understanding of

entrepreneurship and how to go about with start-up. This

SDP was coordinated by Prof.Khallikkunaisa, Prof.Imran,

Ulla Khan and Prof.Juveriya.

1 Day Workshop on “Machine Learning with

Python” on October 5th 2018 organized by

Department Computer Science & Engineering

HKBK College of Engineering, Bangalore in

association with EduNextgen. The objective

of organizing this SDP was to impart practical

knowledge as per VTU CBCS scheme 2015-

16 on “Machine Learning” for the 7th semester

students. Coordinators are Prof. Smitha Kurian

and Prof. Priya Rathod.

➢ Staff Achievements

• Professor Pushpa Mohan successfully completed her Ph.D. on

“Investigations and Design of predictive analytical models and

algorithms for agricultural applications” from REVA University.

• Professor Tabassum Ara awarded as Best Faculty of the Year by CSI

Mumbai Technext India 2018.

TRAINING &PLACEMENT CELL

An Industrial visit was organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering. About

150 students, along with HOD Dr.Loganathan and faculty members Ms. Preethi , Ms. Juveria

Afreen, Mr.Jobin Thomas from Department of Computer Science & Engineering visited Infosys,

Mysore Centre.

An Industrial visit to Infosys, Mysore centre was organized on 13th November 2018 for B.E

Computer Science for the students to familiarize them with various emerging technologies.
