NOTES FROM THE GRAND LINE
From GRM Kris & GRP Wes,
Dear Honored Ladies and Sir Knights, Our visit to Chehalem Court last Tuesday was a special occasion. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and fellowship with the members of the Court and those who joined them. We also had a special guest in SK James Callahan, the Grand Royal Patron of Arizona, who had business in the Portland area that week. Our thanks to the members of Chehalem for making us all feel so welcome. Many of our Oregon members then traveled to Boise to attend the Grand Court of Idaho. There were 23 Oregon members present!! It was an amazing experience to have so many of our Oregon family there! HL Billie Reed and SK Dowell Demaray, GRM and GRP, had an excellent session and we enjoyed ourselves at their Redneck Burlap & Bling banquet. There are several pictures on Facebook of the event! We extend our congratulations to HL Linda and SK Dave Elliott, the newly installed GRM & GRP. SK Wes and I then traveled home early to enjoy the Rainbow Reception honoring HL Becca Mobley, Grand Worthy Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Oregon. We were delighted to be seated with HL Teri Rollman, WGM Mary Drushella and WGP Bill Gershbach for dinner! HL Teri is still recovering but her attendance was a huge boost to the girls and adults of Oregon Rainbow. We wish HL Teri a continued speedy and complete recovery! Thanks also to the several Oregon Amaranth members who were in attendance at the Rainbow Reception! RM Linda and RP Steve Barkley were all decked out for the Hollywood themed event! HL Anjee Thompson is serving this year as State Mother Advisor, so it was great to see her in attendance! HL Diane Crabtree is also serving this year as Grand Guardian for Oregon Job’s Daughters and she was there too! These two very busy honored ladies, were also with us at their home Court OV on Tuesday at Chehalem. It just goes to prove… if you want something done… ask a busy Amaranth member!!! They are always willing to assist. Today we will be attending the memorial service for SK Will Gordon. HL Anne Beaton, DSRM, will be officiating at the request of HL Sharon and family. SK Will will forever be sweet in our memory and we offer our sincere sympathy to HL Sharon, HL Debbie and the entire Gordon family. Honored Ladies and Sir Knights… take time each day to offer your gratitude for those in your life who bring you joy. Family and friends make this journey so much sweeter and we are blessed that you are all in our life. Thanks for the joy you bring us each day! Continued safe travels to all and happy fall! ~ HL Kris and SK Wes HL Kris and SK Wes

UPDATE Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, Inc. Charlene Tucker During the month of September there have been two articles published that I would like to share with you. One article is from the Diabetes Forecast Magazine featuring the check presentation made at Supreme Council to the ADA and an interview that took place. The other article is from Everyday Health discussing the benefits of having bariatric surgery and Type II Diabetes. Both articles are attached to this newsletter and I hope that you would take the time to read them. Through research and our continued hard work we are making a difference.

ARAGO FUNDRAISER
https://www.bonfire.com/diabetes/
Spread the word about Arago Court's newest fundraiser that is up and running, which promotes
Amaranth and our work towards supporting Diabetes Research. Amaranth Members while
wearing them will intrigue others, and give an opportunity to a conversation about both our Order
and Diabetes Research.
I have attached a sample color of each of the designs available. There are between 3-5 colors in
each style to choose from and the sizes are available from XS to 3X. The product gets delivered
to the person's chosen address who ordered. Sales are only through Bonfire website and profits
benefit Arago Court Order of Amaranth directly.
These are fun shirts to promote awareness of Diabetes Research and the support that Amaranth
gives to this Philanthropy.
The front has a "Cure Diabetes" Ribbon on the left chest. Many colors and styles of T-shirts and sweatshirts. Orders are taken online, made at the end of the 14 day sale period and then shipped to your home/address. This one will end on June 2, 2019 and will be set to ship by June 11. Profits go to Arago Court #31, Order of the Amaranth in North Bend Oregon. Many colors/styles to choose from. This one can be worn by anyone, so feel free to share the link! https://www.bonfire.com/curediabetes/
