Heatherlee hosts design studio workshops in which she invites allstakeholders and developers to co-design with her, this sets the stage for the UX and IA work.

Heatherlee plans and facilitates usability tests from strategy toSUS score. Whether in lab or via virtual meetup tools, she always finds a way to talk with users.

Heatherlee is well-versed in UX, she is thorough in doing researchon the Who, What, Why behind aproduct. She’s a visual designerand builder of prototypes.

MOBILE APPSENTERPRISE SOFTWARE

CWA: Client Web AccessClaims Processing Software

Heatherlee led the modernization of a 30-year old green screen software used for processing claims. The system was used by 100s of partnering companies, and its flat UI relied on user memorization and keystrokes. Some user tasks included: looking up claims, approving prior authorizations, adding members or reversing or trialing a claim. The project required intense IA work and 100s of hours of user and stakeholder interviews. Throughout the experience, Heatherlee kept the built-in speed of the keyboard functions. The dark background was inspired by the legacy system and the colors and glows were inspired by game design.

The CWA project was being developed in parallel to the group’s proprietarydashboard. Heatherlee was challenged to fit the CWA experience insidethis existing framework. She imagined device-specific capabilities such as taking photos of paper claims for “scanning” and entering info via voice.

HarkenHealth.com Launched July 2015

Harken Health is a new kind of health insurance, which Heatherlee helped launch just in time for 2016 enrollment.After an exciting kicko� and brand reveal, Heatherlee presented many iterations of Harkenhealth.com and the firstgeneration member portal. She also delivered a high fidelity prototype of what a future portal experience could look like. She was largely part of the visual design process, and completely designed the site’s search feature.

Optum.com 3.0Launched April 2016

Optum.com 3.0 was the third iteration of the company’s site since its inception in 2011. It was the first time the sitewould be re-architected to follow a mobile-first strategy, and Heatherlee led these e�orts. The project involved manyteams: Branding, Marketing and the six business segments. The soft launch was in April of 2016, with many UX updates on the roadmap for the months to follow.

OptumRx AppLaunched December 2014

The OptumRx app was launched to assist over 2 million mail delivery patients with their medication refills and renewals.Before, the process of transfering, refilling or renewing a prescription took over 4 minutes, Heatherlee’s team cut it downto 30 seconds. They also made it easy to look up drug pricing and information and send rx requests to their provider.

• The OptumRx app earned a surplus of $50 million in the first month it was launched

• Months after launch the App was awarded an A’ Design Award in the Di�erently Abled and Senior Citizens Assisted Design category

• In the first year the app earned over $1 billion

Expecting App2nd Place Hackathon winner - Jan 2015

Heatherlee dreamt up the Expecting app several years after re-designing the Maternity wing at Allina hospitals and clinicsin Minneapolis. After observing her own problems within prenatal care and birth, and in researching birth centers, hospitals and interviewing Midwives, Obstetricians and pregnant women, Expecting was born out of need. The app allows women to have greater access to evidence-based research, unbiased education and tools for self-e�cacy during pregnany and birth.
