BECOME A STUDENT MENTOR MENTOR SCHOOL WITHOUT WALLS SENIORS Each year, School Without Walls (SWW) seniors work on a yearlong project that involves a research paper, an innovative product or event, and a public presentation. This year, SWW is partnering with GW to provide undergraduate student mentors for the participating high school seniors. The first two mentoring sessions will occur this Thursday, 9/13, and Thursday, 9/20, between 3:45pm and 5:00pm. During these sessions, GW volunteers will provide feedback on SWW seniors' paper proposals, helping to identify and resolve grammatical, stylistic, and rhetorical errors. Volunteers will be checking guests in, assisting with merchandise and gift bag distribution, handling microphones during sessions, and running overall logistics. VOLUNTEER LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR POSITION IMPROVE THE LIVES OF IMMIGRANTS THROUGH EDUCATION Washington English Center, a non-profit English language school that provides ESOL and workforce readiness classes to adult immigrants in the DC area, is looking for volunteer language instructors. Their school is located in Dupont/Kalorama and training would be on September 15th. Volunteers co-teach ESL classes and new volunteers are paired with experienced co-teachers.
