Contents
Have you ever seen two teams skating on ice with their sticks, trying to get their puck across the ice? Well that's hockey.
The Stuff You Need
You need gear to play hockey. One thing you need are elbow pads to protect you from when you get slammed into the boards or fall on the hard ice. You also need pads on your shins and shoulders, you need skates to glide on the ice and beat people to the other side of the ice. You have to lace them really tight. The helmet goes on your head, and it protects you so if the puck went flying into the air it wouldn't hurt your head. The hockey stick is for shooting the puck on the ice into the net.
Players
You need 18 players to be a team. 2 on defense, 2 on mid, 1 on striker, and 1 goalie. There are 12 left on the bench to switch. the goalies job is to keep the puck out of the goal. He wears huge pads, as big as a desk. This is because the puck comes at him and these pads defend him. He also wears a big goalie glove. I am the goalie on my team, and I'm the only one. I like it because it's fun and I like watching the game.
Stuff They Do
There are two big things they do. Icing happens when a hockey player slaps the puck down to the other side of the rink. Then if it crosses the red line without any body getting it, then that would be icing. Face off is after the teams score a goal or they send the puck into the stands. Two players face each other with the puck in different places on the rink. They ' re Fighting over the puck.
We are the champions!
And you are the losers
