He isGood and He is Faithful! Saturday,January 25th, more than 200people came together to dedicate the Bible Institute to the Lord's service. Missionaries and church leaders from allover Honduras participated in the ceremony. We celebrated with song, prayer, and the reading of His Word. It wasgood to seethe support of so manyChristians as they, too, anticipate whatGod will do at the Institute. Asmanyof you know, thishasbeen our goalfor some time. The propertyfor the Institutewaspurchased in the summerof2000. The Lord hasworkedtheselasttwo and a half years to not onlypreparethe facility, but alsoto preparethestudentsand all those involved inthe teachingof theWord. Wewereoverjoyed to finally celebrate the opening of the Institute Biblico Cristiano. Joy. 'Praying that God mil use the institute. Standing, eating^ talking^ and sharing their lives. The facilities ofthe institute havealready beenusedforthe glory of God. The bi-annual meetingofthepastors fromall around HonduraswasheldonJanuary24th. An area wide churchgathering in whichover 200 peopleattendedwas heldon February 2nd. What a joy it is to receive theseyoung men and theirfamilies. We know theLordhasprepared them for these next two years of study. We seea true desire to study, learn, and share God's Word. Theyare hard workers and dedicated to the task ahead.Billis currendy teachingthree daysaweekon Genesisand Matthew; another missionary is teaching onBiblegeographyand Life andTimes ofthe NewTestament oneday a week; and a local pastor is teaching the book ofMark.The Walls are UpIt was not the Hoffs desire to have walls around theinstitute, but for safety's sake it became necessary. Onceagain workteamsfromtheStatesrosetotheoccasion.FromJanuary 23rd to February 3rd, nine men were ableto complete the front wall as well as begin a second wall.They worked in two inches ofmud and constant rain. Thisgrouprepresented four-churches fromthe Kokomo,Indiana area as well as KnoxviUe, Tennessee.The second work team came from March 3rd to the17th. They consisted offourteen men and were from TheChristian Churchat CoganStationnear Williamsport,Pennsylvania. By thentherainshadstopped andtheytoiled tirelesslyin the oppressive heat ofHonduras. Theyput upthousands of blocksandonly lackedlaying 900blocks when they left. The students will finish that withina couple of weeks. While they labored, theteam leadertaught a series of very practical lessons on the theme ofdiscipleship with Bill translating. The students were veryimpressed.-1 j 1M.'.S;. . :.:U-Lining thelast sections.The wholefamilytogetherCM HCHMother and daughter.ReunitedWhat a joyit was to have Rebecca and Alfredo comefor a ten-day visit in February (between the two workteams). It was the first visit for Alredo, so it was excidngto watch himexperience Honduras. It was a real pleasuretohavebothourchildren andtheir spouseshavedmetogether. While they were here, we spent a day at thebeach, a dayup at the lake, an afternoon at the beaudfulwaterfalls of Honduras, acouple of hours shopping, andenjoyed several favorite restaurants. Mosdy, we enjoyedone another's company. Themost excidng part was tofind out that Rebeccais expecting ababy. In fact, the duedate is Mark's birthday, September 29th. Everyone isveryexcited about this new life. Wearethrilled to becomegrandparents for the first dme!Alfredo and Rebecca. ]oj talking toa scarlet macaw.The Church is IncorporatedFor several yearsthe English speakingchurch, which we lead, has been tryingto obtain the registration as areligiousorganization. In March the registrationwas finally published in the Gazette of the Nation, and we canlegally hold bankaccounts and property. There willbe severaladvantages, but the church willalsohave responsibilitiesto maintain certainrecordsfor possible governmentinspection. Theofficial name of the church is "Ministerio International ChristianFellowship."Sunday, March 23rd, the bi-annual congregational meeting was held in the church. Many decisions were made thathopefully will helpthechurchandthepeopleof Honduras. The churchalsocontributesto Christianworksinother countries.The group has calleda youth pastor who is currentiy raisingsupport and hoping to come this year.Prayer 'n' PraisePraises: We praise God for die dedication ofdie BibleInstitute. We praise God for the 11 students who have begun classes. WepraiseGod for the areamissionaries andchurch leaderswho arehelpingbyteachingand sendingstudents. We praiseGod for the work teamthat came inJanuary and for the work theywere able to accomplish. We praise God for safetyand for health. We praise God for the new life He is giving to Rebecca and Alfredo.Prayer Concerns: Pleasepray for the students as they study. Please pray for Billand the other teachers as they teach the Word. Pleaseprayfor the wivesand childrenas theyhavemade manysacrifices to be ableto come and support theirhusbands in this way. Pleaseprayfor Markas he works to maintainthe facility and assign work-studyto the students eachday. Please prayfor Rebecca and theirbaby's health.
