Hojat Shakiba (born 1949 in Gorgan) is an Iranian painter

A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran, Hojat Shakiba is known for his paintings on Persian television series, and collaborated with the director Ali Hatami. His painting books include “Khayyam”, “Hafez”, “Irandokht”, and “Role of Photos in Iranian Art”. Currently lives in Canada and has showrooms both in Iran and Vancouver Canada.

Hojat Shakiba is today recognized as the unchallenged master of Persian nostalgic paintings. He was introduced to photography, painting and calligraphy at a very early age working in his father's studio.It was a devoted admirer of portraitist Sani-ol-Molk, whose paintings today are displayed in worlds museums. The master painter opened new ideas and trends in Persian miniature work, and the influcnce on Shakiba is clearly evident in his paintings today.Shakiba gained further valuable experience when he was commissioned to draw paintings for several films, including that on the life of Kamal-ol-Molk, authored by Ali Hatami.

His first exhibition was held in Seuhoun Gallery in 1977 in Tehran, where the theme of his work was historical images of Iranians as well as special currency notes, which generated unusual public interest
