Our sad story began one day when my back began hurting and I was hunched over like when a person has a pinched nerve. My Pet Parent Annette took me to the Vet. He gave me a shot which brought down the inflammation however it camouflaged the real serious problem. Two months later she received a phone call to hurry up and come home that I Romeo was dragging my back legs. She rushed home and took me to the Vet he said I was post paralysis. She rushed to a referred specialist who put me under anesthesia when she did not have the four grand for the operation he woke me up and then an Angel called and saved our day so that at least the surgery could enable me to wag my tail and have some movement in my legs. After researching she found out that a Myelogram X-ray would have detected my disc problem before it caused me to be paralyzed. When she questioned the specialist about this he sent her a certified letter to not contact him again. My Vet in Dania FL gave me six shots seven years in a row. Honest Vets we have come to meet around the country told us that I became paralyzed from the over vaccinating near my spine. While profiteering Vets who don’t live up to their Oath are financially well off my Pet Parent’s business has suffered because she has had to stay in Florida to take care of me as I need assistance to go to the bathroom, I would die without her. Local Pet Food stores that sell package shots are profiting not protecting your

pet. They play on convenience and affordability when in fact pets like me and my offspring who suffered from Maltese Encephalitis, Paralysis, Post Rabies Vaccination Granuloma and near death from a Rabies adverse reaction cost us a broken heart, a suffering business, thousands of dollars to specialists, my independence and death. I used to skip around the lake did you ever see a dog skip? I was so happy until the Vicious Cycle of Over Vaccinating by our Vets ruined our lives. Please make sure your Pet Parent gets a Titer Test before you get vaccinated. By the way vaccines are not necessary annually or every three years. We should lobby to change this outdated law and put a stop to promoting Up To Date on Shots and make it a requirement that Vets be Up To Date on education about Shots and to abide by the Doctors Oath. It should be mandatory to perform a Titer Test prior to any vaccination administration. To get a wheelchair like mine visit www.k-9cart.com 1-866-592-2787. Please submit your honest Vets name and phone number [email protected] Please visit these sites to confirm facts about vaccines and profiting not protecting pets.

And Here

On the death of Hugo Chavez:Embalming his body is “unlikely”

On the Venezuela elections:Capriles challenges Maduro to a presidential debate before the Venezuelan elections

The first Pope Latino promises a journey of love and brotherhoodArgentines in South Florida proud of new Pope

In Caracas - President in charge of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, says it will be “very difficult” to embalm President Hugo Chavez’s body because preparations must have been made in advance.Maduro said Russian and German scientists arrived to the country for the embalming process, and are saying it will be “quite difficult” as these decision had to be have made much sooner.

Venezuelans in Miami are again willing to go to New Orleans to vote. Venezuelan exiles during a news conference at the Doral Restaurant Arepazo 2 said that they would be willing to travel the 1,400 miles between New Orleans and Miami in April to exercise their right to vote, but demand that authorities in Caracas tell them where the polling will take place in order for them to make preparations.Since the Miami consulate was closed and remains closed, more than 8,500 Venezuelans traveled on 7 October to vote in the presidential elections. Many are willing to do it again even if they don’t have any resources. To keep up with all the latest events, follow us on our website: www.holalatinosnews.com

Venezuelan opposition candidate Henrique Capriles, challenges the acting president and candidate, Nicolas Maduro, to hold a debate before the presidential elections on April 14.“The country wants a debate. I put it on the table today Nicolas (...). We have a month,” he said in an interview.“We will discuss insecurity, economy, electricity, water (...), employment, expropriations,” he said. Capriles also apologized, at the request of Maduro, to the family of the late Hugo Chavez, for having questioned the validity of the date of the president’s death.

Amid shouts of excitement, Argentines in South Florida expressed their pride and joy to learn that the new pope is of their same origin and that he is the first Latin American pope in history. Many of them gathered at restaurants like the popular Manolo and Buenos Aires Bakery in Miami, from which they followed the events happening in The Vatican through giant television screens and the election of the Cardinal of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who adopted the name of Francisco. This accomplishment will attract global attention to Argentina and will have an enthusiastic effect for the South American nation.Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio 76, who chose the name Francisco as the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church, made a public address shortly after being elected on the fifth ballot of the conclave. He is the 266 Pope in the history of the Catholic Church and the first Latin American to hold this prestigious title. In one of his first words to the public the Pope said “Let us pray that the whole world have great brotherhood.”

Royal Wedding of William and Kate – $70 million

We all have seen or heard about it. It was the first really grand royal wedding beamed around the world since the parents of William,

Charles and Diana, got hitched in 1981. That wedding cost around $6.4 million then. It is a good thing that her daughter was marrying a man whose father has wealth of around a billion pounds from his Duchy of Cornwall estate alone. Charles was reportedly the one who would foot the bill.

Wedding of the Daughter of the Steel Tycoon Lakshmi Mittal – $60 millionLakshmi Mittal is a billionaire many times over. He made his wealth from the steel industry. In 2004, his daughter Vanisha married the businessman Amit Bhatia.. There were a thousand guests who were flown in from all over the world, all of whom stayed in five-star hotels in or near Paris. It was a six-day extravaganza that included fireworks being shot from over the Eiffel Tower and Aussie superstar

Kylie Minogue performing her hit songs. The wine costs around $1.5 million, and the chef had to prepare more than a hundred dishes served at a reception at the Palace of Versailles.

Wedding of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi – $45 million

This wedding costs $45 million in 1981. The wedding of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and princess Salama featured a stadium that could accommodate 20,000 people that was specially built for the celebration. Every town in Abu Dhabi hosted the Sheikh during the week of the wedding, and a feast was served each time out. The wedding gifts to the bride were loaded on 20 camels that were bedecked with jewels.

I Found A Culinary Gem on Hollywood Blvd……Cinquecento 500

¡Me encantó!

What do you think about Gourmet Pizza, Homemade Pasta Dishes, Over-stuffed “Empanadas”, Creamy Gelatos, A Fun Atmosphere, Wine Variety, Cheerful Staff, and On-site Owners making sure everything is perfect for every guest. All this can be found at the recently opened Cinquecento 500 Pizza & Gelato Cafe at 1929 Hollywood Blvd. The décor is bright, happy, trendy and inviting; good for large parties, dinner for two, and very kid-friendly. Your mouth will water when you see the gelato displays. AND THE PIZZA IS OUT OF THIS

WORLD. The pizza is cooked in a coal-fired oven with so much cheese that is difficult to cut without strands of cheese going all over the table. And if you want something other than pizza, try the pasta, fish or hamburgers. Their homemade pasta is made fresh every day.Everything I tried was great and everything is very affordable. The restaurant is owned by two very dedicated Argentinean brothers, Maxi and Mariano. I truly recommend you try it for yourself and I know you will return over and over again. Thumbs up!

This Canadian expat, Dany Flanders, who has been playing regularly at Joe’s Tiki Bar Grill & Sushi in Hollywood, may actually end up becoming a “Canadian Idol” on a show that airs on Canadian TV called Le Voix. Dany has been flying back and forth and though he is quite excited about taking his career “to new heights,” if he wins, Dany Flanders still really loves his home town here in South Florida

where he has been a successful musician just about forever. And he will never forget that. The fact that he was chosen amongst five thousand singers who auditioned to be on this season’s show, gave him a new lease on life. We wish you the best Dany!

Most residents in our more densely populated communities live in a

condominium, which is subject to the rules established by a board made up of home owners. The premise sounds good. A governing board made up of property owners at the same complex, making decisions about property use, restrictions and finances of the community to help protect their investment, maintain financial viability and manage the resources accumulated by the owners in common in the form of reserve accounts. Sort of a by the people for the people type of idea. So far so good right? While these are not paid positions and while I earnestly believe most board members truly volunteer with the best intentions and have an honestly altruistic motivation to do the right thing for their community… the old adage “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” applies very well to these situations. In 2011 new laws were

enacted in Florida intended to protect condo associations from deadbeat owners, as condo associations suffered from a lack of cash flow at least partly caused by owners who stopped paying when their properties were under foreclosure. The reasoning was good and the lobbyists were able to get the laws passed but, did these new laws go too far?We now see condo associations employ the services of an attorney to perhaps selectively foreclose on owners who for “any” reason could not pay their maintenance fees, regardless of the reason for their distress, selectively because more desirable properties and those with equity or high likelihood for rental revenue tend to get foreclosed on by the association faster than others. Some board members have admittedly used the services of their attorneys to forestall the foreclosure process so that they can extend the time during which they rent out the property to

“recover” the past due fees they were owed but, in some cases, they continue to rent out the property long after they recovered their past due maintenance and legal expenses and use the rental revenues to build up their reserves and improve the property. So at what point then is the condo association entitled to rental revenue for a property when the bank is still owed on their unpaid balance? Shouldn’t the bank be entitled to that rental revenue? Has this become a new profitable business model for many associations and their attorneys allowing them to operate as rental businesses?Other recent cases have involved owners of a condominium that were trying to short sell their property to avoid the eminent foreclosure of their property, only to find that their association would expedite the foreclosure of their property to put themselves in a better position to collect more from the lender, and therefore made it impossible for the owner to

short sell, forcing the owner into foreclosure. While certainly no system is perfect, it may be time to reconsider the effect of the new laws enacted to “protect” associations and perhaps limit their new powers or remove the apparent immunity of board members from the repercussions of their actions while they serve. It is imperative that ALL owners vote and try to be properly represented by their respective boards and they CAN make changes, although it may not be easy, if they are not happy with their board members. It is equally important for those thinking about buying a property in a condominium community or home owner association to do their due diligence and properly research the history and current financial and legal condition of the association at their community before they agree to go through with the purchase of their property because otherwise they may have to live with a bad decision for a long time.

Senators agree on legal status for illegal immigrants

Eight senators who have for weeks been, under close door negotiations, trying to write a bipartisan bill to overhaul immigration laws have now “privately agreed” on the most debatable part of the draft. How to offer legal status to the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants has been the most argued issue. The bill would require illegal immigrants to register with Homeland Security Department authorities, file federal

income taxes for their time spent in America and pay a “still-to-be-determined” fine. They also must have a spotless law enforcement record.Once granted probationary legal status, immigrants would be allowed to work, but would not be allowed to receive any assistance from federal public benefits, including food stamps, family cash assistance, Medicaid and unemployment insurance.

Slim up with Weight Training

What is the best way to get slim, trim and defined?I get this question all the time… on Face book, on Twitter, on Pinterest, at Seminars and events. And when I say “Weight Training”, people cringe. When I ask them what kind of exercise they do in order to “get toned”, they say…… CARDIO!Not that cardio isn’t great exercise; it is a huge component of the formula as it helps burn fat. But the only way to “Get toned” and gain lean and sexy muscle is through resistance training or “weight training”.There is nothing to be afraid of my friends. It’s impossible to “get too big” without an incredible amount of training hours per week, an increasing amount of calories, genetics and possibly “ergogenic aids” or steroids.Muscle is the actual location in the body where you physiologically BURN FAT. So that’s why that saying goes ….. “the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn”.It’s the truth, so we have to build some muscle so that we can burn more fat.Start with 3 days of weight training and complement that with 20-30 minutes of cardio right after. If you can’t do the cardio after, do it on different days. Here are some tips about weight training:• Change your workout routine every 3-4 weeks as it takes that long for the body to adapt. In order to continue seeing change, you must change the workout.• Use controlled movements and enough time under tension. Example: To perform a squat, go down in 3 seconds, pause for 1 second in the middle of the range and then go up in 2

seconds.• Time your rest periods. Start with 60-90 seconds in between each set.• Lift enough weight that you challenge your body. You should reach momentary muscle failure at the prescribed number of sets. Example: If you were supposed to do 20 reps of bicep curls with 10lbs and you can do 22, it’s too light. Try the 12lb weights the next set you do.Here is a great Fat Loss Full Body Workout for you to try.A1. 20 Dumbbell SquatsA2. 20 Dumbbell Chest Presses or PushupsA3. 20 Stability Ball Leg CurlsA4. 20 Dumbbell RowsRest 60 seconds and repeat another 1 or 2 times.B1. 20 Dumbbell Shoulder PressesB2. 20 DipsB3. 20 Dumbbell Biceps CurlsRest 60 seconds and repeat another 1 or 2 times. Make sure to train your body in a balanced manner. You can’t just workout your legs 3 times a week, because that’s your “Trouble area”. Make sure to hit every body part weekly. Stay tuned next month to get the secret to getting a flat belly, toned abs and some really amazing abs exercises.

In this season, allergies affect a large percentage of the population and can significantly limit our daily activities. Although the body can manifest allergic reactions to many things, including food, medicines, and other external agent, in this article we will discuss the common phenomenon of environmental or seasonal allergies.

You may wonder why one person can spend an afternoon walking through blossoming fields without any symptoms, while others can’t step out the front door without experiencing severe allergic symptoms. Heredity is one of the major distinguishing factors. However, from an Ayurvedic perspective, there are three influential factors and treatments to consider when dealing with seasonal allergies:

1) Strength of the individual’s digestive fire – this is one of the most important factors for our health where we take in energy and information from our environment, extract whatever is beneficial to us, and eliminate everything we don’t need. Ways to increase our digestive fire are: a.Meditation - When we calm the mind and body, we are less likely to respond to external agents aggressively while increasing our ability to take in nourishment from our environment.b.Conscious Breathing - Take an inhalation that is slightly deeper than normal. With your

mouth closed, exhale through your nose while constricting your throat muscles. This has a balancing influence on the entire cardiorespiratory system and helps release feelings of irritation and frustration. c.Detoxify your Body – One Ayurvedic herb that is helpful in treating allergies by cleansing the digestive tract and removing toxins is Triphala.

2)Reduce absorption of external allergens - We are in constant dynamic exchange with our external environment. When our environment has high exposure to allergens, it becomes difficult to control symptoms. A simple way to reduce possible effects is:a.Use a neti pot - This container will allow warm salt water to flow in one nostril and out the other. Perform this saline rinse once or twice daily to flush out any material that has come into the nasal passages.b.Lubricate your nostrils – This Ayurvedic practice known as “nasya” consists of applying a few drops of vegetal oil to the nasal passages. The oil forms a protective layer that prevents allergens from attaching themselves to the nasal membranes.

3)Balance your “dosha”– Follow a dosha pacifying diet according to your unique mind-body constitution. Find out your dosha by visiting: http://www.jothivita.com/dosha

Dentaduras Parciales y Completas Removibles

When permanent teeth are lost, it necessary to replace

them to avoid further damage to the remaining teeth and to restore the lost function. Many patients would like to replace the lost teeth with implants or bridges, but sometimes the cost is too high or the patient can only get the removable type of denture. Below are some of the options available:A Partial Denture or “removable bridge” replaces one or more missing teeth, but there must be teeth remaining for the partial attach to. This partial is removed daily to rest the tissues and will prevent other teeth from shifting, thus preserving your remaining teeth.A Temporary Partial Denture can be fabricated when a front tooth or teeth needs to be extracted and the patient does not want to be without teeth during the healing period. Complete dentures are fabricated when all natural teeth have been lost and should give you back the ability to eat normally. Dentures are important because they can restore your self-esteem, regain your eating and speaking ability and give support back to the lips and cheeks for a natural and younger appearance. An Immediate Complete Denture is

indicated when the remaining teeth are extracted and the dentures are placed at that same appointment so the patient goes home with his denture. The advantage is that the patient does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. After the tissues have healed, a new denture is fabricated or the same one can be relined to become the “permanent denture”.An Overdenture can be fabricated if there are at least 2 roots (teeth) to be kept. These roots may be used as anchors to hold the denture in place. These roots also give support to the denture and help maintain the bone level and retain the ridge the denture sits on.An Implant-Retained Denture is a denture that is supported by dental implants and the ridges. Implants increase the retention of the denture and improve the biting sensation because they simulate normal teeth. Many patients that are missing teeth can have TMJ problems, headaches, digestive issues, speech difficulties and low self-esteem. We encourage you to visit the dentist to learn more about your options. For further questions you can visit our web site hollywoodsmilesfl.com.

Vacation time is just around the corner.I think after this cold weather, we are all ready for some fun in the sun. I have a soft spot for the Caribbean as there is a special charm about the islands that make them truly unrivaled destinations to visit. Some of my favorite ports of call are located in the Southern Caribbean. Whether it’s Dutch, British or French that you fancy, each of these islands are a paradisiacal haven, each unique in their own way, but one thing they all have in common is the peaceful pace—no hurry, no worry.

The island is actually part of the Eastern Caribbean and I love strolling the boardwalk of Dutch-side Philipsburg, exploring the very French town of Marigot and driving around the island and seeing the breathtaking cliffs of Cupecoy. The island is split up by two distinct

and interesting cultures. St. Maarten was peacefully divided between Holland and France, and today it’s interestingly the smallest landmass in the world to be shared by two sovereign nations.

Aruba’s next door neighbor, Curacao is much more rustic and features exquisite unspoiled beaches and spectacular diving, stunning architecture and lots of multicultural diversity. The Dutch influence on Curaçao is present in the centuries-old colonial buildings of their capital, Willemstad, even more so

that in Aruba and it’s a great place to meet interesting people and sample the lively Dutch culture, and even go swimming with my favorite--dolphins. If you travel here in the beginning of April, you can experience the distinguished Curacao International Film Festival Rotterdam.

I must confess that I am very partial to Aruba as living there for 5+ years I had the opportunity to live in slow motion and enjoy a peaceful existence, as well as connect with some of the friendliest and amusing people I’ve ever met. I actually had time to relish those breathtaking beaches and take a daily walk and swim, and without a doubt, Aruba is blessed with one most amazing beaches in the world! Living there put me in Zen mode.

There are a couple of terrific events coming up if you decide to travel soon, held on Memorial Day weekend, the Aruba Soul Beach Music Festival, is a two-night concert series with many internationally-renowned artists in an open-air stadium, right all under the stars. Also the Aruba Hi-Winds will be held on Jul 2 - Jul 9, which is a stunning, colorful site at Hadicurari featuring the largest amateur windsurfing and kite boarding event in the Caribbean.

ARIES: March 21- April 19

For some time you’ve been going with the current. It’s time to change. Try a different attitude. Embark on a specific project in the field that interests you, commercial, industrial, academic, or in the area of your personal development and you will be successful.

TAURUS: April 20 - May 20

Dedicate time to overcome all the challenges that are stopping you from achieving the goals you set out to achieve. Don’t let anyone influence you to change attitudes.

You have the victory in your hand. Take advantage of it.

GEMINI: May 21 - June 20

You will have significant changes and you will get what you deserve. You will realize that when you achieve your goal, you will be rewarded by peace, tranquility and prosperity. Change the position of your furniture to move the energies around so you can get positive energy back in your life.

CANCER: June 22- July 22

You have the propensity to overindulge in drink and other things. Moderation is everything so that you can avoid unnecessary falls. Take care of your image, your

personal appearance and especially your behavior in public.

LEO: July 23 - August 22

Being a nice person does not mean becoming a door mat. You must demand respect. Do not abuse the trust of your superiors and put things in place as it is very necessary.

VIRGO: August 23 - September 22

Claim what you deserve, do not let people trample over your rights at any time. Three people who are around you are vigilant. They are waiting to for you to make

a mistake in order to fall upon you like vultures, beware.

LIBRA: September 23 - October 22

Your sense of justice prevents you from being a more pragmatic person in life. You do not have the ability to fix the world. Do not pretend you can. Be content to act upon what you conscience dictates.

SCORPIO: October 23 - November 21

You are very entrepreneurial, organized, and thorough in your work and have great dedication. You are very appreciated for your loyalty at all and your high sense of

ethics and responsibility.

SAGITTARIUS: November 22 - December 21

If you need motivation to help you in your work, you will find it in your family. You love to enjoy the ocean, your home and your children. Your enthusiasm to do businesses can push you to make money.

CAPRICORN: December 22 - January 19

You have great leadership and a strong sense of hierarchy, you can hold positions of responsibility in society. You have a knack for dealing with others and work as a

team player and have the ability to organize everything around you.

ACUARIUS: Janurary 20 - February 18

You can’t always please everyone and you will have to make some sacrifices. To remove a tumor you often have to sacrifice good tissue or an organ of the body. Look at it this way and don’t fret, there is no absolute justice.

PISCES: February 19 - March 20

Take care of yourself first and foremost. Act with cunningness and leave a permanent record of your actions. A very flattering proposal is only part of a web

they are trying to weave around to hurt you.

El efecto venezolano:La Economía en El Sur de la Florida Crece

The Venezuelan Effect:South Florida’s Economy Booms

Doral--It’s no news that Venezuelans have been the No. 1 foreign buyers

of Miami real estate, ahead of much larger nations like Argentina and Brazil, at least since 2006 when the Miami Association of Realtors began tracking foreign sales.Experts claim that exiles that left Venezuela because of the violent crime rates and economic and political crisis are responsible for bringing significant capital to South Florida. They have launched numerous small businesses in the area, ranging from all types of restaurants to import-export companies, started families and are calling South Florida their home. They have become so prominent in some cities that they have earned the nickname “Westonzuela’’ for the city of Weston in Broward County and in Doral, “Doralzuela” and they take pride in their very active Venezuelan mayor, who

has been trying to make the city bilingual. The lasts figures show that close to 50,000 Venezuelans live in Miami-Dade County alone. Many South Floridians are wondering what’s next. Experts continue to believe that South Florida will remain a magnet for Venezuelan exiles and their capital. Venezuelans – even pre-Chávez – were great partners with South Florida as they have been coming to South Florida for many years for vacation and business and is the natural place for them to start a new life. They already have a great financial community. At least three major South Florida banks – Banesco USA, Mercantil Commercebank and Ocean Bank – are controlled by Venezuelan investors. And now with the political and economic uncertainty in Venezuela there could be another major boost of capital to South Florida in the short term.

Greetings beautiful people!!! Hello again to my Sports page, featuring William Roberts, formally of the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. As this year steadily goes forward, so do the Miami Heat. They’re so hot right now -my fingers are sizzling as I type this article. Can you believe the energy these guys are playing with? Electrifying, exhilarating, intense, and exciting,,,, Wow ! All that , and then some. Now if we can only get the Miami Dolphins to try to do a tiny bit of that, then we have something special here. Well we do have the great memories from the 1972 Dolphins for the older generations, but what have you done for me lately. Hopefully, we will have something to talk about in free agency or by way of the draft. Is this the breakout year for the Fins; or will the depleted Marlins organization steal the headlines from Flipper and the gang. Some of you all may be too young to remember when

Flipper ruled the east end zone in the Orange Bowl. A true fact in Dolphins history. Hopefully Jeff (H)ireland will hire some descent free agents this year that can bring some magic to this great city. Meanwhile, we have Tiger in our midst for the Cadillac Championship at the Trump Doral Golf Resort and Spa this month. Rory McILroy and Tiger Woods are scheduled to tee off. Hopefully this event will make the Donald and Tiger two happy people. As the world turns here in South Florida, we also get to host the best tennis stars in the game. This takes place on Key Biscayne for the Sony open from the 18th-to the 31st. For information, call 305-442-3367 . Hopefully, the Hurricanes will be a bright star in the magic city skyline this year. They have great talent and more great talent is on the way. I just look forward the day when we see the dominance in the program as we know them back in the days. We are thirsty

for winners in this great city. Around the world in sports, as the NHL try to salvage their season, Baseball is ready for full swing and the defending World Champion Miami Heat prepare for the final curtain call, we can only hope for a better year for the Dolphins. We miss the winning tradition; so in this Tanneyhill era the expectations are high and we will be watching closely. I have to give a special congratulations shout to my nephew and my brother. They won the State Championship for the second consecutive year in a row. They are the Miami Norland Vikings, Head Coach Lawton Williams, Assistant Coach Cleveland Roberts III, and Dalvin Roberts, nephew, and all of the teammates. Once again beautiful people, it has been a pleasure to share a few words with you and until next time, we love winners!!! It’s great to be a Champion !!!

Love Ya.
