Cardboard Boat Regatta. Construct a “human-powered” boat made of corrugated cardboard that will hold at least one crew member and be “seaworthy” to race (for a short while at least) on the Thunder Bay River in Alpena. Fun for everyone in the family! Anyone age 10 or older may enter the race.Individuals, Groups, Non-Profits, Businesses, Corporate, and School Teams come join us!

Song of the Lakes. Song of the Lakes has been repeatedly voted “Northern Michigan’s Best Folk Artist.” Their high energy performances combine Celtic and Scandinavian traditions with Michigan maritime history in a show that weaves humor and lore, and inspires hand-clapping audience participation.

Genot Picor. Genot Winter Elk Picor’s stories, songs and dances have thrilled audiences from Kentucky to Sault Ste. Marie, and from New York state to Ironwood. Descended from the French and Huron people of the Great Lakes region, this well-traveled performer’s interactive children/family show is touched with warmth and fun for all ages.

Hipps-�N-�Ricco. Hipps -N- Ricco’s Acoustic Duo was created in 2008. Years of experience with “Charlie “Hipps” Witthoeft playing Harmonica in Blues and Jazz groups (Mojo & The Boogieman, Doc Woodward & Charlie’s Root Fusion) across the MidWest. Eric “Ricco” Jaqua playing Drums, Vocals, Bass and Guitar in a several bands. This combination has propelled the duo quickly to gain the attention of both local and international TV and Radio appearances with the Duo’s Original material!

Project Lakewell. Project Lakewell is a living history program designed to help interpret the voyageurs’ place in maritime history and in the chief commerce of the day – fur trade. The program is rich with stories of these legendary figures and the songs that were part of their everyday experience.
