WELCOME TO SICILY

The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily is located just off the tip of Italy’s ‘boot’. As an island Sicily boasts

its own vibe whilst the culture is classically Italian, however after some 25 centuries of occupation by Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans and Arabs; the island has inherited influences in cuisine, art and architecture from a mixture of cultures. Sicily’s rich heritage is matched by an astonishing variety of landscape from the tallest active volcano in Europe, Mt. Etna, to mountains and coastline coves with sandy and pebbled beaches. Given the island has a landscape that reflects a very rich history and diverse natural surroundings, for those who want the perfect mix of outdoor adventures and immersive culture, Sicily is a fine travel destination. If nothing else, the famously divine Sicilian cuisine which fuses the best of Italy with influences from afar will certainly win you over.

SICILIAN CUISINEBeing an island and surrounded by water, Sicily’s kitchens and menus are packed with fresh fish

and seafood courtesy of the Mediterranean Sea. Whilst much of Sicilian cuisine is comparable to

Italian cuisine, distinct influences have also been derived from Greek (olives, pistachios and fresh

vegetables) and Arab (raisins, cinnamon and saffron) cuisines. Traditional recipes are wonderfully

preserved and one of the best ways to sample Sicilian cuisine is on the streets with every village, town

and city having its own food market. Five course meals are the norm here consisting of an appetiser,

first course (mostly pasta), second course, salad and dessert.

WEATHER IN SICILYSicily enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate. Summer months are dry and hot and the days are full of

sunshine. Temperatures in June can reach around 25°C and climb to around 30°C in July and August

before falling back to 26°C in September. May and October still enjoy comfortable temperatures of

around 20°C and whilst these months are mostly sunny, there is a small increase in the chance of rainfall.

Given Sicily’s mountainous topography, there can be some slight regional variations in the climate.

BEACHES IN SICILYYou will find a variety of beaches in Sicily, from golden stretches of sandy beaches to serene pebble

coves. There are simply far too many gorgeous beaches spread around the island’s entire coastline

to mention. However, what is guaranteed is that whatever kind of beach you are looking for, you will

find your idyllic place to enjoy the crystal-clear blue and turquoise waters that surround the island.

LUXURY IN SICILYSicilian luxury, just like everything else on the island including its cuisine and the Sicilian people,

certainly has its own style. Luxury hotels on the island tend to follow a style of old-world elegance and

glamour. Many of the luxury hotels tend to be smaller boutique style hotels, more than making up

Sicily is such a diverse island. Its history is long and varied and this is reflected in the regional

differences of the island. Starting with Palermo, the island’s capital, this dense and fiery city is a treasure chest of history, culture and architecture. Taormina is undoubtedly Sicily’s main tourist attraction, with its panoramic hill-side location and illustrious past attracting artists, celebrities and aristocracy alike, Taormina is Sicily’s most fashionable town. Cefalù and Giardini Naxos are also popular sea-side towns and Siracusa and Ragusa are steeped in history, with both claiming a UNESCO World Heritage Site title. Mazara del Vallo shows a different side to Sicily with its strong north African influences. Finally, for those wanting a different experience altogether, the Aeolian island of Vulcano is just off Sicily’s north coast, offering visitors a stay surrounded by true volcanic beauty.

INTRODUCING RESORTS IN SICILYRAGUSAConsidered to be one of Sicily’s most picturesque

towns, Ragusa is another of Sicily’s UNESCO World

Heritage Sites. After much of Sicily’s south-east

was destroyed by a large earthquake in 1693, 2

parts of the town formed, the more modern area

which was built from scratch and the older part

which rose from the ruins of the original town.

TAORMINAFor over 100 years, the small town of Taormina has been

Sicily’s most fashionable hot-spot, attracting tourists &

celebrities alike. Located on the north-east coast of Sicily,

Taormina is perched high on a hillside overlooking the

Ionian Sea & offering magnificent sea views. Taormina

is a melting-pot of the old & the new. Once a thriving

ancient Greek and Roman town, its history is evident in its

buildings & winding cobbled streets, which now play host

to luxury hotels & boutiques.

GIARDINI NAXOSGiardini Naxos is a sleepy seaside town located

just 9km south of Taormina. The town boasts a

beautiful beach and stunning views of Taormina

and the surrounding hills. For many the attraction

of Giardini Naxos is its proximity to Taormina,

close enough to enjoy but far enough for a more

restful stay in Sicily.

PALERMO Located on the north-west coast of the island, Palermo

is the capital city of Sicily. Dating back over 2,700

years, Palermo is a dense, rich melting pot of ancient

architecture, cultural influences and artistic importance.

This beautiful city is one of the most popular destinations

on the island offering numerous historical points of

interest, colourful street life and bustling markets.

Palermo is a renowned gastronomic destination with

some of the best street food in the world.

MAZARA DEL VALLOThis town is one of Italy’s main fishing harbours

and retains Arab and north African influences that

can be seen in its architecture and the old city

centre. Established by ancient Arab occupiers, is

referred to even today as ‘Kasbah’.

RIPOSTORiposto finds itself between Taormina and

Catania and in the shadow of Mt Etna. This small

commune on Sicily’s east coast facing the Ionian

Sea. This is a great destination for outdoor

activities and enjoying the surrounding nature.

CEFALÙ Around 75km to the East of Palermo along Sicily’s

norther coast is the picturesque town of Cefalù. One

of Cefalù’s main tourist attractions is a glorious long

stretch of sandy beach. Cefalù is also a historic town

and boasts some impressive ancient architecture

including the famous Norman Cathedral. This pretty

town with its medieval buildings, quaint harbour,

romantic cobbled streets and beautiful beach is one of

Sicily’s most popular tourist destinations.

LINGUAGLOSSALinguaglossa is a small town in Sicily’s north-

east. Linguaglossa can literally be translated as

‘Tongue Tongue’, Lingua being Italian for Tongue

and Glossa being the Greek derivative. This small

town of around 6,000 people is a commune for

the Mt. Etna National Park, of which the town lies

just outside of. Visitors will enjoy stunning natural

surroundings making this an ideal stop-over for

those wishing to trek on Mt Etna.

VULCANO ISLANDAs its name suggests, Vulcano is a small volcanic

island and is one of eight Aeolian islands which lie

to the north of Sicily. This island of incredible beauty

featured in ancient Greek mythology and was

thought to be the chimney of the fire god Vulcan’s

workshop. The island is famous for its therapeutic

mud-baths and volcanic hot springs. Vulcano is

an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking

tranquillity on a unique island setting.

SIRACUSASiracusa is a great destination for history lovers

and is famous for its rich Ancient Greek influences

and architecture. It is a fine cultural destination

and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site to

prove it. Siracusa makes for a fascinating base to

explore Sicily’s historic south-east region.

DAY 2 | SUN: CATANIA | SIRACUSA | RAGUSAAfter breakfast, depart for Siracusa to visit the archaeological site of “Neapolis”. Continue to the

island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city-centre of Siracusa: visit of the Cathedral and Arethuse

Fountain. Lunch on your own. Depart for Ragusa and visit of the enchanting historical centre

“Ibla”, with its stunning Baroque architecture and churches. Together with other seven cities

in the Val di Noto, Ragusa is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy a tasting of

typical Sicilian products in the main square by the Dome. Dinner and overnight stay in Ragusa.

DAY 3 | MON: RAGUSA | CALTAGIRONE | PIAZZA ARMERINA | AGRIGENTOAfter breakfast, proceed to Caltagirone, a small town in the inland of Sicily, a UNESCO World

Heritage Site and famous worldwide for the production of pottery and terra-cotta wares. Enjoy

panoramic views and shopping. Continue to Piazza Armerina to visit the renowned Villa Romana

del Casale, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its well preserved mosaics. Lunch in

a local restaurant. Depart to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the

Temples, yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a guided tour of the Valley, including the

Temple of Concordia, Juno, Zeus and Heracles. Dinner and overnight stay in Agrigento.

DAY 4 | TUES: AGRIGENTO | PALERMO | MONREALEAfter breakfast depart for Palermo. Arrival at Monreale and visit the Cathedral, one of the

most beautiful monuments of the world with its Moorish architecture, housing fine mosaics

representing a complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments as well as the Benedictine

Cloister in Arab-Norman style. Lunch on your own. Proceed to Palermo to visit the historical

centre, one of the largest in Europe, including the Cathedral, the Palace of the Normans and

its superb Palatine Chapel. Dinner and overnight stay in Palermo.

centre. Continue along the south coast to Siracusa. Visit Siracusa’s famous archaeological area, home

to a vast collection of Greek and Roman ruins from all over Sicily. Proceed to the island of Ortygia – the

most ancient part of Siracusa. Late afternoon arrival in Taormina for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5 | MON: TAORMINA (GIARDINI NAXOS)Depart for Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy.

You will have a chance to climb to the summit (weather permitting). Return to Taormina in the

afternoon and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

DAY 5 | PALERMO-ERICE | MARSALA OR SELINUNTE | AGRIGENTO Depart for Erice which sits on top of Monte San Giuliano. The old city centre is typically

medieval, made of small squares, narrow streets and beautiful gardens. You will also find

artisanal boutiques and pâtisseries. In the afternoon proceed to Segesta, an archaeological site

dominated by the elegant doric temple or to the area of Marsala, the biggest centre for wine

production in Sicily for some wine-tasting. Arrival in Agrigento for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 6 | CATANIA Visit the Valley of Temples, the most sublime testimony of ancient Greek civilization in Sicily

then continue to the baroque town of Ragusa and Modica, famous for its chocolate.

SARDINIAN CUISINEDespite being an island, traditional Sardinian cuisine relied heavily on the produce of the land

rather than the sea. This is due to Sardinia’s coastal regions being susceptible to invasion and so

its inhabitants took refuge in the mountainous regions on the island. Sardinian lamb is known for

being one of the best in Italy with approximately 3 million sheep inhabiting the island. A truly iconic

Sardinian dish is suckling pig roasted outdoors over aromatic woods. Modern times have changed

the dynamics of Sardinian cuisine and now fresh fish is largely incorporated on the island’s dinner

tables. Sardinia also boasts its own varieties of pasta and with such a large population of sheep,

cheese made with sheeps’ milk is a staple.

WEATHER IN SARDINIASardinia enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and days are filled with sunshine. July

and August are the hottest months on the island with temperatures reaching 30°C, however given the

islands topography and geographical location, the coastal area benefit from a cooling sea-breeze, making

the island very agreeable during the height of summer. Shoulder months will still enjoy comfortable

weather with highs of around 20°C with a higher chance of some rainfall in April and October.

DAY 1 | MON: BUDONI (SAN TEODORO | OLBIA) | BARBAGIA | CASTELSARDO The journey starts by heading towards the heart of ‘Barbagia’, one of the most characteristic,

traditional and authentic areas of the island. First stop is in the town of Mamoiada, famous for

its Sardinian carnival tradition. Visit to the Museum of Mediterranean Masks. Continue towards

the centre of the island with its rugged mountain terrain covered in forests. Enjoy a traditional

lunch and in the afternoon proceed north, crossing the ‘Logudoro’, another region rich in

historical and archaeological sites. Evening arrival at hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 | TUE: CASTELSARDO | ALGHERO | CASTELSARDO Proceed to the ‘Coral Riviera’, well known for its red coral and characterized by striking

chalk cliffs overhanging the sea. A guided tour of the walled city of Alghero will follow to

explore the fascinating Gothic-Catalan architecture and cobbled side streets, battlements

and Saracen towers, as well as the bustling city centre. After a free-time lunch break the

afternoon is yours to explore the city further. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 | WED: CASTELSARDO | TEMPIO | OLBIA APT (SAN TEODORO | BUDONI) Discover Castelsardo, a fishing town famous for its Sardinian arts and craft work and

considered one of the most attractive historical centres in Italy. Built on a rocky outcrop

it overlooks the sea with its castle dominating the landscape. Take a guided tour of the

historical centre including the Cathedral of Sant’ Antonio Abate. Continue on to the ‘Gallura’

region crossing ageless landscapes of inland forest, cork oaks and granite outcrops. Arrival

at Tempio Pausania, an elegant austere town built entirely in granite. After a guided tour

of the centre, enjoy lunch and an afternoon stop at Calangianus. A necessary visit to a craft

workshop will show the different stages in the transformation of the increasingly precious

cork tree bark. The tour ends upon returning to Olbia.

DAY 1 | OLBIA Arrival and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 | TEMPIO | CASTELSARDO | ALGHERO Travel across the island from one coast to the other seeing magnificent mountain

landscapes, cork oak forests, sheep grazing freely on pastures & typical small villages along

the way. Arrive at Tempio Pausania for a guided tour. Continuing to Castelsardo & enjoy free

time. Dinner & overnight stay is in Alghero.

DAY 3 | ALGHERO | BOSA | SANTA GIUSTA | CAGLIARI Guided tour of Alghero with its bustling Catalan styled centre. After lunch we head south and

arrive in Bosa. Continue towards the attractive town of Cabras for lunch and in then to the

region of Sinis. The day ends in Cagliari.

DAY 4 | NORA | CAGLIARIVisit the Church of our Lady of Bonaria. Continue on to the archaeological site of the

Phoenician city of Nora with a guided tour. After lunch walk around the old part of Cagliari

and Porta Cristina followed by some free time.

DAY 5 | ORROLI | LACONI | BARBAGIA REGIONArrive at Orroli and visit the imposing ‘Nuraghe Arrubiu’. In the afternoon visit Laconi, an

authentic village then museum of the Menhir Statues and the Park of the Aymerich Counts.

The tour finishes at the heart of the island in Barbagia for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 6 | MAMOIADA | ORGOSOLO | BUDONI, SAN TEODORO OR OLBIAVisit Mamoiada, one of the most typical Sardinian villages and then the Mask Museum.

Continue on to Orgosolo and lunch is at a shepherd’s inn. Afternoon departure for the east

coast to visit the Giant’s Tomb of S’Ena’e.

DAY 7 | LA MADDALENA | BUDONI Head north for a 20-minute ferry crossing to the island of La Maddalena - now protected as

an Italian National Park. Visit the town on foot. After lunch continue tour around the island.

Return to hotel in the late afternoon.

DAY 8 | BUDONI | SAN TEODORO OR OLBIA | OLBIA AIRPORT Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch on free time and then transfer to Olbia airport for departure.

Nora. Drive on the panoramic road to the Chia Bay with its 30m high white sand dunes and

DAY 5 | NURAG VILLAGE | BARUMINI | BOSADrive to Barumini to visit the ancient “Su Nuraxi” Nurag village. Free time for lunch. Then

reach the historical centre of Bosa, one of the most beautiful old cities in Sardinia. Drive to

Alghero stopping at a wine cellar along the way. Dinner and overnight stay in Alghero.

DAY 6 | ALGHERO | NEPTUNE CAVES Visit the Neptune Caves on the Capo Caccia. To reach the entrance you must go down a

staircase of no fewer than 654 steps cut out of the rock. It’s also possible to reach the caves

by boat. Lunch at leisure. Afternoon return to Alghero and visit of the historical city centre.

DAY 7 | GALLURA | AGGIUS Drive to the coastal town of Castelsardo. Lunch at leisure. After lunch drive to the city of

Aggius, a quaint village with fine old houses. After the visit, drive to Olbia, check in at the

hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

TERMS & CONDITIONSYour contractual agreement is with Cyplon Travel Limited. It has been structured, in the interest of fair trading, to safeguard your holiday arrangements.

1. YOUR HOLIDAY CONTRACTWhen you make a booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. A contract will exist as soon as we issue our confirmation invoice. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed by English Law, and the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

2. YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTIONWe provide full financial protection for our package holidays, by way of our Air Travel Organiser’s Licence number 0891. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where we aren’t able do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). If we are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency. The Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.

3. ABTAWe are a Member of ABTA, membership number V5573. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We can also offer you ABTA’s scheme for the resolution of disputes which is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. If we can’t resolve your complaint, go to www.abta.com to use ABTA’s simple procedure. Further information on the Code and ABTA’s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on www.abta.com.

4. YOUR HOLIDAY PRICEThe prices shown in our brochure are for guidance only. We have adopted a completely fluid method of pricing our holidays (i.e our prices may change second by second to reflect ever changing airfares, hotel rates etc.) Therefore, our prices will be more accurate. You will be advised of the current price of the holiday that you wish to book before your contract is confirmed.

When you make a booking you must pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 per person plus an agreed amount for flight seats purchased at time of booking. An additional non-refundable deposit will be required for a Wedding or Cruise and it may differ for a group booking. The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 10 weeks before your departure date. If you are booking late i.e. within 10 weeks of departure full payment will be required. If the deposit and/or balance is not paid in time, we shall cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time we shall retain your deposit. Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure.

We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £1.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents’ commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the invoice. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place.

When you buy a flight-based holiday, all monies you pay to the travel agent are held by the agent on behalf and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust at all times. This is subject to the agent’s obligation to pay it to us for so long as we do not fail. If we fail, any money held at that time by the agent, or subsequently accepted from you by him, is and continues to be held on behalf of and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust without any obligation to pay that money to us. When you buy a holiday not including a flight, all monies you pay to the travel agent are held by him on our behalf at all times.

In the unlikely event of a genuine costing error caused by either our reservations team or in house booking system, or appearing on your confirmation invoice, we reserve the right to amend accordingly. Similarly, we undertake to refund any overcharge caused by such an error.

5. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKINGIf, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes, provided they refer to the same holiday season, but this may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the person who made the booking or your travel agent. You will be asked to pay an administration charge of £25 per person and any further cost we incur in making this alteration. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible.

NOTE: Certain travel arrangements (e.g. Apex Tickets) may not be changeable after a reservation has been made and any alteration request could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements. Furthermore If your booking changes because someone in your party cancels this may increase the overall cost of the holiday as it may be necessary to levy under- occupancy or single room supplements.

6. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAYYou, or any member of your party, may cancel your travel arrangements at any time. Written notification from the person who made the booking or your travel agent on your behalf must be received at our offices. Since we incur costs in cancelling your travel arrangements, you will have to pay the cancellation charges shown below.

NOTE: If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

7. IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAYAs we plan your holiday arrangements many months in advance we may occasionally have to make changes or cancel your booking and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Changes - If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. In some cases we will also pay compensation (see below). These options don’t apply for minor changes. Examples of minor changes include alteration of your outward/return flights by less than 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, change of accommodation to another of the same or higher standard, changes of carriers. Please note that carriers such as airlines used in the brochure may be subject to change. Cancellation - We will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 10 weeks before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance. We may cancel your holiday before this date if, e.g., The minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached. If your holiday is cancelled you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value).In some cases we will pay compensation. Compensation - If we cancel or make a major change we will pay compensation as detailed below except where the major change or cancellation arises due to reasons of force majeure. The compensation that we offer does not exclude you from claiming more if you are entitled to do so.

8. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINTIf you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier) and our resort representative immediately who will endeavour to put things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by sending an e-mail to our Customer Services Department at [email protected], giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. Please keep your letter concise and to the point. It is strongly recommended that you communicate any complaint to the supplier of the services in question as well as to our representative without delay and complete a report form whilst in resort. If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract. Please also see clause 3 above on ABTA.

9. OUR LIABILITY TO YOUIf the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed by us or our suppliers we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your travel arrangements. However we will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the contract is due to: you; or a third party unconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall. Our liability, except in cases involving death, injury or illness, shall be limited to a maximum of two times the cost of your travel arrangements. Our liability will also be limited in accordance with and/or in an identical manner to:

a) The contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and

b) Any relevant international convention, for example the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage. We are to be regarded as having all benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any conventions.

Under EU law (Regulation 261/2004) you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensation from your airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to flights. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. However reimbursement in such cases will not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday cost from us. Your right to a refund and/or compensation from us is set out in clause 7. If any payments to you are due from us, any payment made to you by the airline will be deducted from this amount.

NB this clause does not apply to any separate contracts that you may enter into for excursions or activities whilst on holiday.

10. PROMPT ASSISTANCE IN RESORTIf the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall, and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer you such prompt assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances.

11. PASSPORT, VISA AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTSYour specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements.

12. EXCURSIONSExcursions or other tours that you may choose to book or pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of your package holiday provided by us. For any excursion or other tour that you book, your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator.

13. DATA PROTECTION STATEMENTPlease be assured that we have measures in place to protect the personal booking information held by us. This information will be passed on to the principal and to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements. The information may also be provided to public authorities such as customs or immigration if required by them, or as required by law. Certain information may also be passed on to security or credit checking companies. If you travel outside the European Economic Area, controls on data protection may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country. We will only pass your information on to persons responsible for your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religious requirements. (If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in the EEA or not, we will be unable to provide your booking. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.)

14. PASSENGER CONDUCTWe reserve the right to refuse to accept you as a customer, or to continue dealing with you if your behaviour is disruptive or affects other holidaymakers, or is threatening or abusive towards our staff or agents in the UK or in resort, on the telephone, in writing or in person. In such circumstances no refunds or compensation will be paid to you. Civil or criminal proceedings may be instigated.
