    Good People of Holy Cross,

I read with joy of the commitment those young soccer players are making by delving deeper into their religion. Their miraculous rescue in Thailand captivated our world and I’m certain your prayers as we waited and watched things unfold. It strikes me that our mission to be disciples of Jesus bears many similarities with the rescue of those boys. The rescuers needed significant planning and yet time was of the essence. Many of the boys needed to be taught how to swim and even those that could, had to be escorted, one at a time, with someone guiding them up front and someone pushing them from behind. Along the way they were given oxygen. Their nerves were calmed while at the same time constant forward motion was essential. And while there was much well-deserved praise lavished upon the rescue team, for the rescuers it was actually the rope, the literal life line, that those men grasped and that showed them the way out. We too are going one by one and ensuring that at the heart of our rescue effort is our rope, our lifeline, the truth, Jesus, our Lord and Savior that guides this effort. Have a great week! Fr.

Padre Jude Michael

From Fr. Joe’s desk What a wonderful and warm welcome I received here at Holy Cross. Since I was only stationed here for eight or nine months four years ago, I never expected such an outpouring of friendship and generosity upon my brief return.

Thanks to many of you, I have eaten at all the “hot” dining spots in the area. For the many gifts and kind expressions of friendship and humbly extend my grateful appreciation and promises of prayers for you and your loved ones’ welfare.

Some have asked for my future address so that they can add me to their Christmas card list. So here it is:

Fr. Joseph Dorniak, St. Mark Church , 643 NE 4th Avenue, Boynton Beach, Florida 33435

If you’re in my “neck of the woods” drop in and we’ll have a cool piña colada under a palm tree (someone has to do the hard work around here!)

By all means, let us strive to stay together in prayer for one another in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

    Thank you, Fr. Joe D.

    P.S.

To Fr. Jude Michael and Fr. Reto:

I also extend my deep appreciation for hosting me in their home and hearts during my transitioning and re-assignment. God bless their “new” community as they re-group and minister to the “good people of Holy Cross” and to the people in Switzerland.
