My Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

By the time some of you get to read this little message I will be on my way to India for my welcome home holidays to visit my beloved parents and relatives. We have just farewelled the year 2015 thanking the Lord for His innumerable blessings and graces upon us and our dear ones and welcomed 2016 with great expectations, hopes and dreams. I know that there are many in our parish waiting expectantly for the intervention of the merciful Lord in their life so that they may have happy and peaceful family life, the gift of a child, good health, financial security, etc. I sincerely wish and pray that all these dreams of yours come true in 2016 and that it may be a year of peace, happiness, and prosperity for you and above all a year when you all experience the merciful love of God and be merciful like the Father. I wish and pray that we all radiate the mercy of God through our words and gestures in this great Jubilee Year of Mercy. As for me 2016 is a year to sing of the mercies of God in my life especially in the last 25 years as his humble and unworthy priest. My 25 years as a priest makes me to sing more convincingly together with St. Paul: “I am what I am because of the grace of God.” On Saturday 16

th January my family is celebrating my

Silver jubilee in my home parish and you, my family will be specially remembered in my jubilee Mass.

As I informed you at the weekend Masses Fr. Johny Arattukulam OCD will be

covering me in my absence and please make him feel at home and be grateful to him

for coming to our parish to help us in our time of need. I will miss you all and hope to

see you on the 5th of February 2016. Until then, BYE!

In His Love, Your Fr. John

A VOCATION VIEW: The light of Christ shines upon you. Share that light

with others. Consider the gift of a Church vocation.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY CHRISTMAS HAMPERS: Fifty six

hampers of food and gifts were delivered to families in the parish area on the 20th of December. A big thank you to the parishioners who helped to deliver these. It made our work so much easier.

FAITH SHARING AND REFLECTION: On every Thursday at 10.00 am we run

in our parish a programme called ‘Faith Sharing and Reflection’ and Sr. Dawn Gibson had been organising it so far. Now that she has left for Brisbane, Vince Crowley has kindly agreed to facilitate it. But we need to know who are all interested to participate in it. Please sign up on the sheet of paper provided for it at the entrance of the Church so that we may know the numbers.

LENTEN REFLECTION PROGRAMME: The season of Lent begins in February

next year. As usual we will have Lenten Reflection Programme both in the morning and evening of every Thursday in Lent. Will those who would like to take part in the programme kindly sign up on the paper kept at the entrance of the Church so that we would know the number and order the resource books?

FR. JOHN ON HOLIDAYS: Fr. John will be on his annual home holidays from the

3rd

of January to the 5th of February 2016. Let us pray for his safe travels and wish

him a happy and enjoyable holidays with his parents and relatives in India.

Our Mission

For the sake of the Kingdom we strive to be a community of disciples who live in the Spirit and proclaim Christ to all.

We will open a book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. searchquotes.com

Happy New Year! You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from

your tracks, the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy, the meadows are covered with flocks, the valleys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing

for joy. (Psalm 65:11-13)
