Online Giving

Over the years I have made my contributions to LCR via a check each week that I put in the offering plate. Although I pay most of my bills on-line, I never made the switch to on-line giving for church.

For years, the simple act of writing out a check each week to church was important to me, and a symbol of my love for God. However, now that we will be worshiping virtually for some time, I just made the switch to on-line

giving. It was really easy, and I believe I am showing my love for God in a different way now. It also makes it safer for the volunteers and staff to process my donation in these days of social distancing! You can switch to on-line giving here. - Dan Lizdas

It can be a bit of an art to juggle both the YouTube live stream for the

worship service and the bulletin at the same time. I find it works well to

split my screen, or to access the bulletin on my phone while watching

the service on my laptop or TV.

We’ve received some very faith-filled inquires about the possibility of

receiving Holy Communion during this time. Pastor Dave and I have

wrestled with some of the same longings as you have expressed. At

this time, because we are not able to assemble in-person together as

the church, we are going to have to forgo Holy Communion until that

time when we can again gather in person as God’s people. Until that

day, we still seek to receive Christ who continues to come to us as his

Word is read, preached, and sung. We’ll leave it here for now.

Let us walk together into Holy Week

Though by necessity we are physically apart, we walk together into

Holy Week. With Christians throughout the world who are isolated by

Covid-19 this year, we walk together into Holy Week. We also walk

with the church throughout the ages who have kept their eyes fixed on

Jesus.

We walk with the Church who during the 1918 influenzas pandemic

fixed their eyes on Jesus the Palm Sunday King.

We walk with the Church who during the bombings of racial hate fixed

their eyes on the loving Maundy Thursday command of our Lord to

“love one another.”

We walk with the Church which was driven into hiding during the

communist era who fixed their eyes on Jesus the Good Friday

crucified.

We walk with the Church who lost the farm, yet fixed their eyes on the

Risen One!

Though we are isolated, we are not alone for the One who conquered

the grave will not abandon us. Though the space will be different, the

power of the Gospel of our God will carry us through. And perhaps by

God’s grace, we will be found again by the One who saved the world

through a cross.

Friends, let us walk, with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

In Christ,

Pastor Stephen
