Home and away is the second longest running Australian Drama.

When Neighbours got cancelled due to low ratings channel ten made it into a success. Home and Away was made when the director Alan Bateman wanted to make another soap opera.

Extra Information As Home and Away goes on more and more characters start to

come into the show with different storylines. When the show first aired the main characters were the Stewart

Family including two people who are still on the show to this day Sally and Alf.

Now coming into 2013 more characters and more problems are happening.

Some of the new characters are: Spencer, Maddy and Chris Sally and Pipa The River boys Jett Roo Irene

Recent Storylines One of the major storylines that is happening at the moment, is about

Pipa and Sally. Pipa is suffering from an incurable disease and Sally her mother must find a way to get them enough money to take herself and Pipa to America to find to try find a cure.

When John, Gina and their son Jet go on a trip to the city to become Jet’s legal guardians. Gina has an unexpected heart attack and passes away.

Heath and Bianca try to get Heaths daughter to live with them, but Heaths daughter’s Darcy is currently living with her grandmother and Heath must prove that he can be a responsible parent and take care of Darcy.

History Behind Home And Away Home and away is a soap opera and got started by Alan Bateman. It is filmed in New South Wales, Summer Bay and has been on TV

ever since January 17 1988. It used to be a 1 hour and 33 minutes long but now is a half and

hour show and airs Mondays to Thursdays. Each week new storylines occur they even add on to the storylines

from back when it started. Before the show ends for the year heaps of dramas are starting to

happen. Heaps of new characters are starting to come back to stir up some more drama.
