Proceed as follows:Remove the machine’s worktop byunscrewing the two rear retaining screws (1),pull the worktop from the back of the machine(2) and slide out the front slots, lifting theworktop (3).

Insert the machine after adjusting the levellingwith the adjustable feet. When inserting themachine, ensure that the water inlet and drainhoses are not kinked or squashed.During all operations that involve accessibilityto internal components the dishwasher has tobe unplugged.Be sure that once the appliance has beeninstalled, it is easily accessible for the serviceengineer in the event that a repair is required. If the dishwasher is later used as a free-standing appliance, the original worktop mustbe re-mounted.The plinth on free-standing appliances is notadjustable.

Water connectionsWater supplyconnectionsThis dishwasher may be fed with either hot(max. 60°) or cold water. Nevertheless weadvise you use a cold water supply.

A hot water supply is not always efficient withheavily soiled crockery as it shortens thewashing programmes a lot.For making the connection itself, the couplingnut fitted to the machine’s supply hose isdesigned to screw onto a 3/4" gas thread

spout or to a purpose made quick-couplingtap such as the Press-block.The water pressure must be within the limitsgiven in the "Technical data". Your localWater Authority will advise you on theaverage mains pressure in your area. The water inlet hose must not be kinked, crushed, or entangled when it is beingconnected. The dishwasher features fill and drain hoseswhich can be turned either to the left or theright to suit the installation by means of thelocknut. The locknut must be correctlyfitted to avoid water leaks. (Attention!NOT all models of dishwashers have fill anddrain hoses provided with a locknut.)If the machine is connected to new pipes orpipes which have not been used for a longtime, you should run the water for a fewminutes before connecting the inlet hose.DO NOT use connection hoses whichhave previously been used on an oldappliance.

This appliance has been fitted withsafety features which will prevent thewater used in the appliance fromreturning back into the drinking watersystem. This appliance complies withthe applicable plumbing regulations.

Water inlet hose withsafety valveAfter connecting the double-walled waterinlet hose, the safety valve is next to the tap. Therefore the water inlet hose is only underpressure while the water is running. If thewater inlet hose starts to leak during thisoperation, the safety valve cuts off the runningwater. Please take care when installing the water inlethose:

• The electrical cable for the safety valve is inthe double-walled water inlet hose. Do notimmerse the water inlet hose or the safetyvalve in water.

• If water inlet hose or the safety valve isdamaged, remove the mains plugimmediately.

• A water inlet hose with safety valve mustonly be replaced by a local repair agent.

Warning! Dangerous voltage

Water outlet hoseconnectionThe end of the drain hose can be connectedin the following ways:1. To the sink outlet spigot, securing it to the

underside of the work surface. This willprevent waste water from the sink runninginto the machine.

2. To a stand pipe provided with venthole, minimum internal diameter 4 cm.

The waste connection must be at a height ofbetween 30 cm (minimum) and 100 cm(maximum) from the bottom of thedishwasher.

29

Page 30: Home Appliances to make your Home; Cookers, Ovens, Washers

The drain hose can face either to the right orleft of the dishwasher.Ensure the hose is not bent or squashed as thiscould prevent or slow down the discharge ofwater. The sink plug must not be in place when themachine is draining as this could cause thewater to syphon back into the machine. If you use a drain hose extension it must beno longer than 2 metres and its internaldiameter must be no smaller than thediameter of the hose provided.Likewise the internal diameter of thecouplings used for connections to the wasteoutlet must be no smaller than the diameterof the hose provided.

When connecting the drain hose to anunder sink trap spigot, the entireplastic membrane (A) must beremoved. Failure to remove all themembrane will result in food particlesbuilding up over time eventuallyblocking the dishwasher drain hosespigot.

Our appliances are supplied with asecurity device to protect against thereturn of dirty water back into themachine. If the spigot of your sink hasa "no return valve" incorporated thiscan prevent the correct draining ofyour dishwasher. We therefore adviseyou to remove it. When connectingthe drain hose to an under sink trapspigot, the entire plastic membrane(A) must be removed. Failure toremove all the membrane will result infood particles building up over timeeventually blocking the dishwasherdrain hose spigot
