POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
PRESIDENT AND CEO
The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), the nation’s leading and premier association dedicated to the journey of continuous improvement and enterprise excellence, headquartered in Chicago, IL, with 14 FTE staff and a $5M budget, has an immediate opening for a highly qualified, experienced President and CEO. The successful candidate will be accountable for and manage operations in: administration, finance, business development, membership, communications, marketing, education and outreach, meetings, publications and other association management functional areas. Qualifications: College degree and appropriate management, leadership and supervisory experience required as CEO of a professional association, or equivalent organization of similar staff and budget size.
Some skills sets/qualities AME is looking for: progressive leader; highly motivated and passionate; flexible; effective project manager; excellent spokesperson with strong communication/coaching skills; experienced in personnel, administration and finance fundamentals; knowledge of standard business practices, I/T operations and social media applications; demonstrated good judgment and team leader/player; relationship/consensus builder; plus proven track record in association management.
Position reports to the Board of Directors through the Executive Committee and the Board Chair. Salary based on experience with overall compensation in the range of similar budget and staff size at a national/international association headquartered in Chicago, IL.
