Staben House

Eddie Washington Center

On Friday, December 4, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., the Staben House and the Eddie Washington

Center will host a “Home for the Holidays” fundraiser dinner at the Chevy Chase Country

Club located at 1000 N Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling , Illinois. The Staben House and the Eddie

Washington Center are transitional housing facilities for homeless individuals and families.

The programs are designed to empower homeless men, women and children in Lake County

with the main objective of self-sufficiency.

At this dinner, we will highlight successes and accomplishments of the programs. We will

also recognize partnering organizations that have served as critical links in the services we

provide. This year’s list of honorees include: Jeanne Morris-former Staben House Volunteer,

Woodland Middle School, Glenn Bockwinkel- Acura of Libertyville, Mr. Sylvestre Castellanos

- Roquette America, Michael Johnson-Maurello – Art Institute of Chicago, Lorraine Harris–

Lake County Health Department, Mayor Leon Rockingham, Alderman Edith Newsome, and

Waukegan Park District. Over the past year, Staben House assisted 18 families with a total of

33 children. Since inception, Staben House has assisted 279 families with over 600 children.

To ensure the success of this fundraiser, we are seeking your sponsorship to help defray the

cost of the event so that 100% of funds raised can go directly to the Staben House and the

Eddie Washington Center. It is generous donors like you that are the key to our success and

make it possible for Staben House and Eddie Washington Center to continue to provide

critical services to our most vulnerable population; the homeless.
