Hello… everyone…it sure is nice to see the sun and the bright blue sky today! I hope you
are enjoying it just as much.
The virtual reality activity seems to be a big hit. The next session is scheduled on
Thursday the 14th from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Please refer to the sign-up sheet located
on the activity bulletin board to reserve your time. Maybe that will be my opportunity
to try bungee jumping…providing I do not ‘chicken out’ at the last minute (again)!
Thank you, Tanya and Tim, for sharing this terrific experience with us. Given the
consistent interest, this may be something worthwhile for us to invest in.
Welcome Kitty R. and Lois L. to our community. It has been a pleasure getting to know
each of you while you chip away at settling in. Please lean on us as you acclimate to
the routine and culture as we are always here to help.
Another welcome goes out to Betty and Garth G. as they are introduced to their newly
constructed duplex later today. I can’t imagine a nicer day to become oriented to a
new home.
Thank you, Natasha and Vicki, for hosting fun-filled gatherings on Tuesday (Fat
Tuesday). I regret not being able to join the festivities and appreciated being included
via photos and texts!
As a reminder, Nichole Louis, “Nurse Nichole”, will be here on Wednesday the 13th at
1pm for those of you who would like to have your vitals taken and discuss your
health. She will be coming monthly and will be in the solarium.

SAVE THE DATE- The Clinton County Historical Association Announces
“A Virtual Tour of the Plattsburgh Barracks”
Monday, March 25, 2019, 6:30 pm
At Lake Forest Senior Living Community, 8 Lake Forest Drive, Plattsburgh, NY
Helen Allen Nerska, Director at the Clinton County Historical Association, will bring you
on a tour around the Old Plattsburgh Barracks Oval without leaving your chair. Most
buildings still remaining were built around the turn of the century and remain as
impressive reminders of our historic past. Bands played, troops marched, and dignitaries
visited, and boxing matches were regular events. The CCHA collection of photos will be
the focal point of the tour along with stories of the building histories. The Clinton
County Historical Association has one of the largest collections of photos from this era.
The event is a collaboration between the Lake Forest Senior Living Community and the
Clinton County Historical Association.

Starting next week in the congregate building, we will be testing all smoke
detectors, life net boxes, and heating/ptac units. Once the main building is
complete, the life net boxes, AC & heat and all smoke detectors will be
checked in the duplexes.
This is an ongoing reminder to keep the front end of your car off of the
sidewalk. This will allow for us to keep the sidewalks clean in a timely
manner, with less ice buildup. Also, please watch out for ice when there is a
light dusting of snow.
~ Maintenance
A NOTE FROM MAINTENANCE
On Wednesday, March 13th at 2pm, please meet in the
activity area to sew afghan squares together for lap blankets
for the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. The squares are already
made and the design is up to you. See you then!
Due to popular demand, there will be another virtual reality
experience on Thursday, March 14th! Please sign up on the
activity board if you’re interested. People have visited the
moon, Mount Everest, The Grand Canyon, NYC, and
Scotland. Almost anything you can imagine can come to life
in Virtual Reality, just ask!
On Tuesday, Natasha made beignets (a French pastry) and
Café Du Monde to celebrate Fat Tuesday! The beignets were
delicious, and pairing them with the chicory coffee was such a
treat. Thank you to everyone who showed up, and to Natasha
for spoiling us!
Harold Vogel will be here to help with tax preparation. Here are the dates and
