The issuance of Administratir,,e Sanctions for the yarious water slrpply and relatedprojects, being carrietl out in Kerala \\'ater Ar-rthoritv, are being dealt by the planning andOperations ll'ings of the Head Office and other activities connected with the project viz.,finalization of tenders submitteci to Head office, monitoring of physical and financialprogress oi r'vorks and release of pavments, are being carriecl in oiher Wings i,vithin theHead Ofiice' While examining the sizeable no. of proposals receir.,ecl in heacl office fromLower oifices, it is noted that nranv a time the proposaLs hav'e repetitions in the name oiwork, r'vith onlv slight variations in the componenLs proposecl. Similarily, there areproposals with similar nature o[ l,r,'orks to be carriecl out uncier clifferent Divisions orproposed in a differc'nL financiaI vear. This is rendering the con-rpilation oI proposals, issueof AS' moniioring prLlgess, paving bills and monitoring the spill over rvorks etc.,cumbersome,. Confusion has trre potentiar to breed mischief.

The solution to the abor,'e issue is to ailot unique w,ork code for each work, r,vhen ASis issued irom the Head Oifice, so that the individual r,vorks can be ciearly rJistinguishedancl tracked' Sr-rch a cocling svstem i.vith separate alph.rnnmeric c-iepicting the division inwhich the rvork is proposed to be carriecl out, the ir-rncling aEiencv, year of funding, theheacl under h'hich the proposal is sanctionec{, the tvpe of r,vork etc., can be clearlyunc{crstooti irilnl the ciitlc itself, lvithout .r scconti refercnce. gencc, the [.llo*.in.,tlirection is i:-iuer-i itrr .rsii.j.i^q Lririrl.ic u.ork critles.

The Dep,tir ChiefEngineer (Vlonitoring), FVI&CAO, Regionat Chief Engineers and other KIVA officers shallstrictly adhere lo this svstem oI using/quoting the r-inique

'vork code in all iuturereferences, regarding a parlicular r,r'ork. All Administrative sanctions issueci from theHead oifice, starting irom this financial vear 2019-20 shall have unique work cotles.

The Secretarv, KWA is clirected to ensure that the softr,vares clevelopecl ior projectmonitoring/ bitl proct'ssing, etc are capab['of captLrring the Lrnique cot.le systenr ior lvorks.
