Judy’s Diary
Wednesday 13th February
Dear Diary,
When I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect my day to have turned out like this!
I was very excited to leave school for the holidays. I had missed my family very
much. I never thought my family could have grown during my time away!
Firstly, I got off my train at Paddington Station at the exact time I was supposed to
and I was so happy to see my mum’s face waiting for me. Although she didn’t seem
her normal self, I thought this might have been because she had missed me. It’s
quite embarrassing when mum cries when she sees me for the first time in a while,
but I suppose it’s nice to know she misses me when I am away. Anyway, I didn’t
expect her to tell me a bear was coming to live with us! I doubt anyone would have
expected that!
When Paddington (that’s the bear’s name by the way) arrived at our house, he
seemed a little shocked. Maybe bears don’t live in houses in Peru; That’s where he
comes from by the way. Do bears normally live in houses? The first thing mum
wanted him to do was have a bath. He did look pretty grubby. But, you will never
guess what happened… Paddington almost flooded the house! None of us knew he
had never had a bath before. Jonathon and I were so lucky to get there in time. He
could have drowned!
So, after trying to solve the flooding problem without Mum and Dad realising, we
finally got Paddington dry and downstairs. I wanted to hear all about his life in
Peru. Paddington sat in Dad’s armchair ready to tell us all about it when… all of a
sudden … he fell asleep! He didn’t even manage one word! I guess I will have to
wait until tomorrow to find out about Peru.
I’m off to sleep now diary as I think we may have another eventful day tomorrow!
Goodnight.

Dear Diary,
Starting Sentence: You’ll never guess what happened today!
Closing Sentence: Right. Well I am feeling rather tired now and my eyes are beginning to shut. I will write again tomorrow.
Sign off: Paddington
First Paragraph: Here is where you write the first event that happened in the day. Look back at your storyboard from Monday to help you.
As I arrived at 32 Windsor Gardens, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was the biggest, grandest house I had ever stepped foot in.
Second Paragraph: Here is where you write the next key event that happened in the day. Look back at your storyboard from Monday to help you.
Anyway, once I was settled in, Mr and Mrs Brown thought it would be a good idea
for me to have a bath. I’m not so sure it was a good idea!
Third Paragraph: Here is where you write the final key event that happened in the day.
After finally recovering from my bath, I sat down in one of the comfy lounge
chairs to tell the Browns all about life in Peru.
