This week I've been working on Spellblast; MyMaths; Mr G's Maths Challenges 1 & 7 (without using the 3-minute timer); finding proper nouns and common nouns in sentences; making 10 sentences with verbs in and practising my touch typing. I also made up 5 sentences using 'E' adjectives (see slide 4).

I've been working on Spellblast; MyMaths; improving my touch typing; creating a wordsearch using spellings I'm not sure of, from the Year 5 & 6 National Curriculum list of spellings; Mr G's Maths Challenges 7 & 8 and learning how to create 3D figures using a programme called Sculptris, which is really exciting! Board games

• I (Nadian) got mum back at Snakes & Ladders!

• But Oliver lost chess against dad! Oliver: "I was in a good position to win but dad had a pair of Knights (Knights, Bishops and Rooks work best together) and my King was pressed against the wall!"

Word games

We all had lots of fun playing Boggle and Town & Country. Mum and dad are hard to beat!

Lunches!

We love taking it in turns to make lunch for everyone!

Plant repotting

We replanted some of our our houseplants, with dad, into larger pots. We made up a mix of 1/3 soil, 1/3 sand and 1/3 perlite (small pieces of volcanic rock that absorb water and give oxygen to the plants' roots). We took 8 cuttings from our large aloe vera plant and repotted them! We found out that aloe vera plants give off oxygen at night, so they're great plants to have in your bedroom.

One of the plant pots needed a hole drilling in the bottom of it first!

Lego creations

We made some lego creations from the Nausicaä - of the Valley of the Wind film

• Ohmus (giant insects) and Nausicaä, by Nadian

• Pejite's plane, by Nadian and Oliver

Lego challenge!We set Miss James a challenge to make an exotic bird out of Lego! We did it too!

(Nadian left, Oliver middle, Miss James right). Miss James won!

BookmarksWe made some bookmarks for our lovely new books

Date, Banana & Walnut Flapjack, made by Oliver(makes 16)

Ingredients• 300g porridge oats

• 200g margarine

• 150g agave syrup

• 100g dates

• 2 bananas

• 50g walnuts

• 50g raw cane sugar

Method• Chop dates and walnuts in

blender, using pulse setting

• Mix in large bowl with porridge oats

• Blend bananas or mash with fork

• Add to dry mix and mix thoroughly

• Melt margarine, sugar and syrup

• Add to oat and fruit mix

• Press into 22cm square baking tin

• Bake at 150C for 45 - 50 mins, till golden brown
