McKinley Elementary

• Home of the Jaguars!

• Basically we scored the same over the past 3 years.

• Our grade went up to a C because we got points for all of the extra activities and school involvement that occurs at this school.

• We taught common core and we had good success with that portion of testing.

• Our goal this year is to raise scores by 5-10%, but the testing will change to PARCC Assessement.

Programs

• Title I-Provides reading support to all students who need extra reading instruction.

• Bilingual- Navajo and Spanish classes provided to students who qualify. Some students take program as enrichment.

• PE, Music, Library, Computer Lab-Students attend these classes at least once a week.

• Latchkey-Paid after school care.• Science fair/club-provided for students interested in

science.

Opportunities for Family participation

• PTA-handout with activities• Pay parent as a liason• Surveys-state required survey, Title I • Once a month PIE activities occur• Book Fairs• Parent/Teacher conferences twice a year• Parents can serve on leadership/goal teams• Mckinley provides an open door policy and welcomes all suggestions and

parent input.
