How to be successful at home!
Here are some simple ways to get started.1. Make a Schedule of Your Day
Whether it is a paper schedule or something you create on your computer, it is important that you make a schedule of your time.
In addition to schedules school time, you might also want to include breaks, walks, time with friends online, nutrition breaks and time to read and relax.

This is vital to being successful from home. Set up a workspace that include some natural light (so you don’t get sleepy), have your device near a power source, have paper and pencil ready for quick notes or things to remember.

Having “distractions” will create a frustrating environment while you are working on your course work. Things to consider:
⪢ Put your phone on silent while working⪢ Turn off the TV ⪢ Have a clear plan for the work you are doing
○ “Today I need to write a paragraph and submit it.”⪢ Get enough sleep and eat well

4. Set up a “bell” schedule on your phone or a timer on your microwave
If your teacher has indicated you will need 30 to complete the work for the day, set a timer. Work the entire time, then reward yourself for being awesome!
You can also set up 60 alarms to simulate school. Remember to take breaks, walk around, eat, then get back to your studies.

5. Make Note of Due Dates on a Calendar
You might be using a paper calendar or a calendar on your phone. But when a due date is posted, it is a good idea to make a note of it where both you and your adult supervisor/parent can both see it.

If at some point you are feeling lost, or feeling alone in this journey, reach out to a classmate, a friend or your teacher to ask for help.
Teachers are prepared for questions through email. Email your teacher. Ask for clarification, just like you would if you were sitting in class.

This can be an isolating and lonely time. We are used to being in a social environment. Connect with a friend, blog about your experiences, Skype with grandma or many other things we can still do to stay connected with people from a distance.
When we reach out to each other we find that maybe the person we reached out to needed connection as much or more than we did.
