HOMEWORK #25A May 25, 2017 Dear Parents, Our annual 6 th Grade Science Spectacular will be held in class from June 12 to June 23. This culminating activity will encourage the students further develop their investigation skills as they use the Scientific Method to participate in hands-on inquiry based experiments. As an important part of the curriculum, it is required that all sixth graders complete their science fair experiment presentation on time. DUE DATE = JUNE 12, 2017 Be sure to view HW ASSIGNMENT 25B, which is the Simple Science Fair PowerPoint Template in the Homework section of this web site. Your child will do his or her science experiment at home and create a slide show using PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Docs, etc. NO POSTER BOARDS. Please watch “Prepare for the Science Fair” by Kevin Temmer on YouTube.com for more details about how to go about completing a science fair project that follows the Scientific Method. On May 30 or May 31, students must inform their science teacher of their research question, hypothesis and plan for conducting their experiment before beginning their work on June 1st. Please remember that children learn by doing the experiments themselves. Your role is to assist, support, and guide your child whenever and wherever you can, but let the final project reflect your child’s individual effort. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Remember, your child is making a slide show of the experiment. No poster boards allowed. Sincerely, Mr. Scanterbury Next page
