We bought two of these to use at the top and bottom of our stairs to help wrangle our two sons and three dogs. They work great! We had to get a little creative with placement because of the hand rail and a weird configuration at the bottom of our stairs but they are sturdy and we are glad we went with this model. It definitely looks nicer than most gates and will hold up well. The only complaint I have is that they were a little hard to open at first but they have loosened up after a few weeks of daily use. Not enough of an issue to rate them lower than 5 stars.
