Heavy Metal Detoxification

Heavy Metal Detox - Intro

• Heavy metal detoxification is one of the most controversial and challenging topics in natural medicine. The controversy lies not in removing the metals from people’s bodies, but in doing so safely.


• We know for sure that heavy metals can cause significant health challenges and in some cases your clients and patients may hit a speed bump in their progress if they don’t eliminate the metals and this is where the challenge lies.


• Different authors and experts have differing views regarding the use of specific heavy metal detoxification programs and I feel it’s wise as your teacher to advise you to explore all options before you decide whether or not you enter this area of work with your clients and patients.


• To get a feel for the differing opinions, it’s imperative you read the work of:

– Dr. Andrew Cutler (DMSA chelation and lipoicacid)

– Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt (DMSA plus botanicals)

– Dr. Walter J. Crinnion (DMSA protocols)


• It’s important you read the work of:

– Dr. George Georgiou

– Dr. William Timmins

– Drs. Graeme and Lillian Munro-Hall

– Hal Huggins and Dr. Stephen Levy, MD


• Once you’ve read these materials, I guarantee you’ll be more confused! This is one of the reasons why I don’t do heavy metal detoxification programs at this stage. The confusion is further compounded by experts such as Dr. Klinghardt, who states:


“There are many considerations in choosing detox agents. After choosing the appropriate agent for the

individual client and particular metal and exact chemical form of it, we have to consider the body compartment

where the metal is stored. For example, the algae chlorella is ideal for removing virtually all toxic metals

from the gut but has too little effect on mercury stored in the brain. Intravenous glutathione may reach the

intracellular environment, even in the brain, but is fairly ineffective in removing mercury from the gut. Each agent

has a primary place of action, which determines when, how much and for how long it is used.”


• The other major reason I don’t work in this area right now is that I’m very reticent to push the legal boundaries. At an appropriate time, I’ll work with a medical doctor to bring heavy metal detoxification to our range of services and into the public domain.

Botanicals and Heavy Metals

• A number of botanical compounds have purported positive effects on heavy metal levels in the body. These include:

– Chlorella and chlorella growth factor

– Cilantro (aka coriander / chinese parsley)

– Garlic


• According to Klinghardt, chlorella:

– Binds toxins

– Increases glutathione

– Is antiviral

– Contains amino acids and micronutrients that aid detoxification

– Restores bowel flora

– Is a digestive aid

– Helps as an alkalizing agent (in cancer patients)


• According to Georgiou, chlorella:

– Contains Bs, C, E, amino acids, beta carotene, Fe, Zn, Ca, Mg, K, fatty acids

– Helps to balance the body’s pH

– Is a potent cancer fighter

– Reduces UVB damage to the skin

– Reduces body fat percentages (expected if it pulls toxins out of the body)


• Chlorella contains:

– Sporopollein –binds neurotoxins and “more effective at binding toxic metals than any other known natural substance”

– Chlorella Growth Factor – shown to remove some toxic metals in animal studies

– Porphyrins – these have a strong metal-binding effect

– Chlorophyll –activates receptors on the nucleus of the cell which are ultimately responsible for detoxification


• Cilantro (also known as coriander or chinese parsley) is a simple kitchen herb used in many eastern recipes (Thailand, India, etc.). Dr. Klinghardt has this to say about cilantro…


“This kitchen herb is capable of mobilizing mercury, cadmium, lead and aluminum in both bones and the central

nervous system. It is probably the only effective agent in mobilizing mercury stored in the intracellular space

(attached to mitochondria, tubulin, liposomes etc.) and in the nucleus of the cell (reversing DNA damage of mercury). Because cilantro mobilizes more toxins than it can carry out of the body, it may flood the connective tissue (where the nerves reside) with metals, that were previously stored in

safer hiding places. This process is called retoxification.


“It can easily be avoided by simultaneously giving an intestinal toxin-absorbing agent. A recent animal study

demonstrated rapid removal of aluminum and lead from the brain and skeleton superior to any known

other detox agent. Even while the animal was continuously poisoned with aluminum, the bone

content of aluminum continued to drop during the observation period significantly.”


“Cilantro causes the gallbladder to dump bile -containing the excreted neurotoxins - into the small intestine. The bile-release occurs naturally as we are

eating and is much enhanced by cilantro. If no chlorella is taken, most neurotoxins are reabsorbed on the way

down the small intestine by the abundant nerve endings

of the enteric nervous system.”


• Garlic is another simple item that appears to have a specific ability to detoxify heavy metals (and other toxins). Klinghardt again:


“Garlic has been shown to protect the white and red blood cells from oxidative damage, caused by metals in the

blood stream - on their way out – and also has its own valid detoxification functions. Garlic contains numerous sulphur components, including the most valuable sulph-hydryl groups which oxidize mercury, cadmium and lead and make these metals water soluble. This makes it easy for the organism to excrete these substances. Garlic also contains alliin, which is is enzymatically transformed into

allicin, natures most potent antimicrobial agent.”


“Metal toxic patients almost always suffer from secondary infections, which are often responsible for part of the symptoms. Garlic also contains the most

important mineral which protects from mercury toxicity, bio active selenium. Most selenium products are poorly absorbable and do not reach those body compartments

in need for it. Garlic selenium is the most beneficial natural bioavailable source. Garlic is also protective for

against heart disease and cancer.”


• It would appear that a combination of these botanicals should be very effective in helping clients and patients remove heavy metals. We’ll see the argument against them shortly, but let’s look at some specific products that at least have a little research behind them.


• Dr. Georgiou’s product range is called HMD, or Heavy Metal Detox. It consists of:

– HMD tincture

– Lavage

– Chlorella capsules


• HMD:

– Chlorella growth factor, cilantro, homeopathic chlorella

• Lavage – anti inflammatory, bacterial and antiox:

– Milk Thistle Seed, Burdock root, Red Clover Tops, Tumericroot, Hydrangea root, Uva ursi leaf

• Chlorella:

– Pure, metal free chlorella capsules


• Dr. Georgiou funded and undertook a study to check the efficacy of his products in removing metals. Whilst we have to be careful when looking at research funded by the guy who designed the product, the results do show that the products work.


“HMD is the ONLY 100% natural heavy metal detox product that has undergone extensive testing and has been

scientifically proven to work. Unlike many other detox products, HMD has no major detox side effects. There

simply is no other product like it on the market today! HMD is the result of a three-year long research that cost over $1

Million. During those 3 years over 25 different natural products and combinations were scientifically tested and

the only combination that managed to eliminate the most toxic heavy metals is now known as HMD.”


“Samples of both urine and feces were taken from the subjects before (baseline) and after (post) taking the HMD,

and the levels of metals were tested in each of these samples. These samples were sent to laboratories in the US

where ICP-MS cutting-edge spectrometers were used to analyze the samples to an accuracy of parts per billion.”


“A “detoxifier” [substance that removes heavy metals from the body] works if metal levels are higher in the “post test” [sample taken after the medicine was ingested]…After the

initial studies further tests were done to prove HMD’s effectiveness for removing Mercury as well as Uranium.”


“The results show that after only a 12-hour provocation with HMD there were many heavy metals eliminated in the post-urine

and feces samples, compared with baseline (figures are expressed as a % mean increase):

Mercury - 448%Lead - 483%

Arsenic - 7,409%Uranium - 707%Antimony - 45%Cadmium - 67%Bismuth - 564%

Nickel - 80%”

Cutler on Chlorella and Cilantro

• Andy Cutler is pretty scathing when it comes to the botanicals and argues a fairly good case. Here’s what he says on p.199 of his Amalgam Illness book (verbatim).


“First, here is the basic chemistry of chelating agents and what they do. The body is full of thiol groups.

Chemically, these are –SH groups attached to body tissues that grab onto things like mercury ions and hold them. Thus a medicine or nutrient with ONE thiol group

will make the mercury in a person’s body bounce around faster.”


• Here’s what Cutler means in regard to the SH- groups in the molecular structures. The top diagram is DMSA (2x SH groups) and the bottom is cysteine.


“This will cause a lot more damage, but it makes the mercury come out faster. A chelating agent is

something with TWO OR MORE thiol groups in the same molecule which holds onto the mercury more

tightly than a lone thiol group. Thus a chelating agent is more likely to pick up a mercury and move it a long way – perhaps out of the body – before redepositing it and

allowing it to do more damage”


“Mercury does its damage when it first settles down on the thiol groups that are natural part of the human

body. This is why chelating agents are much safer for mercury removal than penacillamine, glutathione,

cysteine, high sulfur foods, chlorella, MSM, etc. Such things are not really chelating agents. Things that have two thiols and actually are chelating agents are DMPS,

DMSA, BAL and lipoic acid.”


• Cutler actually lists chlorella as being contraindicated in mercury toxic people, along with statins, pennicilamine, BAL, H2 blockers, sulfites in local anaesthetics, supplementary cysteine, supplementary glutathione, other algae, dandelion, beet green, lemon juice/olive oil LV/GB flushes (see page 129 of the Amalgam Illness book).


“Cilantro is reputed to be effective at removing mercury from the brain, but is not adequately well understood to determine an appropriate dosage or administration schedule. Current protocols were developed by people who developed protocols for other agents which were not properly optimised, so there is no reason to expect

the usual cilantro protocols to be optimised either.”

“The only reason I would suggest anyone consider cilantro is if they cannot tolerate lipoic acid despite

repeated trials conducted with widely varying supplement/medication regimens and clearly need to

get mercury out of their brain.”

• So already you can see a major conflict between leading experts in the field of heavy metal detoxification: Georgiou and Klinghardt in favour of using botanicals and Cutler against it unless there are specific circumstances (intolerance of lipoic acid).

Chelating Agents

• The primary chelating agents you’ll read about are DMSA, DMPS, BAL and EDTA. Let’s have a look at them, paying specific attention to DMSA as it’s the agent of choice unless you’re a doctor and you can give DMPS by IV (I am generalising a bit).

Chelating Agents

• First, DMPS and DMSA, which are the most frequently used, are medical drugs. They are not nutritional supplements. Thus, protocols should be medically supervised and unlicensed practitioners should be working with a licensed physician to run

the protocols.

Chelating Agents (Klinghardt - DMSA)

• DMSA:– Developed in China in the late 50s.

– Action via sulfhydryl groups.

– Needs to be given every 4 hours around the clock to prevent redistribution of Hg and lead into the CNS.

– Approved for use in lead toxicity.

– Causes major brain fog, memory problems during detox, depression and in children sometimes seizure disorders due to redistribution of metals.

– Indiscriminate use occurs in the US. • Common dose: 50-100 mg q4h – 3 days on, 11 days off for 3-12

months.

Chelating Agents (Klinghardt - DMPS)

• DMPS:

– Developed in Russia as further development of BAL.

– Available both injectable and oral.

– The oral form is the most effective oral chelatorcommercially available.

– 1 tablet, 3 times daily.

– Common protocol: 3 days on, 11 days off.

Chelating Agents (Klinghardt - DMPS)

• The injectable form can be used to mobilize Hg and lead from hard to reach places, such as the autonomic ganglia, joints and trigger points.

– The IV injection works primarily on the endothelium (several hundred square meters) and the kidneys (endothelium – think atherosclerosis/heart disease): • Common dosage: 3 mg/kg body weight once/month.

• The IV form should never be used unless the patient is covered with intestinal binding agents such as chlorella, cholestyramine, apple pectin or chitosan.

Chelating Agents (FMU)

“Captomer is dosed in cycles (3 days on and 11 days off is considered one cycle; some physicians use 5 days on

and 9 days off as one cycle) The more toxic or ill patient will need longer breaks between dosing. The dosage is

based on 10 mg/kg of body weight. The calculated amount will be divided into smaller dosage and

administered on treatment days between meals. The cycles are repeated from 3 to 6 times.”


RBC minerals will need to be tested pre- and post-treatment to determine essential mineral status. Keep

in mind that chelating agents will also chelate essential minerals. At the beginning of the 5th Captomer cycle,

perform another 24-hour urine toxic metal test to check for clearing metals. (Note; if the patient is experiencing

an increase of symptoms from the Captomer, the dosage may need to be decreased or stopped.)


“To ensure heavy metals are not getting recycled, colonic irrigation is recommended at least one time per week. Other supportive measures include far infrared

sauna and hydrotherapy.”

Chelating Agents (Crinnion)

• Guidelines presented for DMSA and DMPS chelation presented in Crinnion’s article aren’t too dissimilar to those of Klinghardt and Cutler (Cutler’s protocol is discussed shortly). Crinnion’s article is once again presented in the resources section of this lesson.

Chelating Agents (Klinghardt - EDTA)

• Calcium EDTA:

– Most information available at www.gordonresearch.com.

– Given as 1 minute push 5-10 ml once/week.

– Originally developed to remove calcium deposits, recently found to also be effective for Hg and other metals including Al.

– Side effects are so far underreported and can be serious

– The more conventional use of sodium EDTA over a 2 hrperiod was used to increase nitric oxide in the arteries causing vasodilation and increased perfusion of diseased heart muscle.

The Cutler Protocol

“My basic approach in determining an appropriate chelation schedule is to minimise the redistribution of

mercury which occurs following a substantial decline in chelator blood concentration. This redistribution

appears to be less when the decline happens after a period of chelation – and the number of redistribution

events can be minimised for a given amount of chelation by using relatively long chelation campaigns.”

Cutler – Amalgam Illness, p. 199.

The Cutler Protocol

• What he’s saying is that it’s important to minimisethe redistribution of mercury. If you were to take a dose of DMSA every couple of days, you’d have redistribution happening all the time as the DMSA level in your blood kept dropping. If you don’t allow the DMSA to drop by taking it every 4 hours, you only have redistribution once, which is the point at which you stop taking it.

The Cutler Protocol

• DMPS and DMSA do not remove mercury from the nervous system and can redistribute mercury to it. It is necessary to use a protocol specifically designed to minimise this – thus DMSA every four hours or DMPS every eight hours. NEVER use DMSA every other day or DMPS injections monthly.

The Cutler Protocol

• DMSA:– Every four hours, start with 50mg and increase

succeeding doses by x1.5 or x2.0 until target dose is reached.

– Continue 4-14 days until symptoms are suppressed, then take a break of 4-14 days and repeat (simplify to 10 days on, 4 dasy off, or 7 days on, 7 days off)

– Do this for 3 months, or until urinary mercury is 80% lower than initial test.

The Cutler Protocol (DMSA side effects)

“Often patients will experience fatigue, irritability, anger, depression, insomnia, or anxiety during mercury cleansing. If DMSA is used, the person may experience

gas, diar- rhea, bloating, and GI discomfort, simply from the sulfur content of DMSA. When adverse

symptoms occur while using DMSA, they can often be quickly decreased by the reduction or cessation of

DMSA dosing.”

Crinnion

The Cutler Protocol

• Lipoic acid DOES remove mercury from the nervous system and DOES substantially accelerate mercury clearance. Using DMPS or DMSA with it reduces its side effects. It can be prudent to take NAC with lipoicacid as the LA can lower liver glutathione. But the NAC should be taken at the lowest appropriate level (cysteine has a single thiol group).

The Cutler Protocol

• LIPOIC ACID:– Every four hours, start with 25mg and increase

succeeding doses by x1.5 or x2.0 until target dose is reached (max 200mg).

– Take DMSA 50-100mg with each dose or DMPS 50-100mg with alternate doses. If side effects of emotional disturbances become marked, try taking it every 3 hours.

– Continue 3-14 days (until emotional disturbances become too annoying), then break of 4-7 days and repeat.

The Cutler Protocol

• Specific symptoms exacerbated by lipoic acid:

– Increased urine volume

– Obsessive thinking

– Emotional volatility

– Difficulty relating to other people

– Apathy and lack of motivation

– Photophobia

– Euphoria

– Sulfur smell (urine)

The Cutler Protocol

“Lipoic acid isn’t a one way street. It just makes it easier for mercury to go back and forth between the blood

and the brain. If you have a lot in the brain, then taking LA right away will help; if you have more in the

bloodstream than in the brain and you take LA it will move into the brain.”

The Cutler Protocol

• Full outline protocol:1. Ensure correct diagnosis.2. Appropriate diet and nutritional support.3. Remove amalgams (intravenous vitamin C and small

doses of IV DMPS can alleviate Sx)4. Begin DMSA (or DMPS) schedule – no sooner than 4

days after removal of last amalgam5. Goal is to get urine mercury down by 80%6. Reasonable doses are 50-300mg (highest 5ml/kg)7. Use LA and DMSA/DMPS for 6 months to 2 years

until chelation at high levels is not producing side effects.

The Cutler Protocol

• Note recommended supplemental support:

– B-vitamin complex 2-3 times per day

– 2g buffered vitamin C x3-4 per day

– Vitamin E 1000iu daily

– Flax seed oil 10-30g daily

– 200mcg chromium picolinate with each meal

– Magnesium 500-750g/day divided doses

– Milk thistle extract x3-4 per day

– 100mg CoQ10

– Possibly DHEA, lecithin, omega-3 & -6 according to budget

8. Test according to signs and symptoms – gut, endocrine, CBC for white blood cells.

The Cutler Protocol

• I highly recommend you read Cutler’s book with a fine toothed comb as it’s an eye opening and professional piece of work.

Summary So Far

• So, now we’ve seen that DMSA and DMPS are effective chelators, but lipoic acid is needed to remove mercury from the nervous system (or cilantro in people who are sensitive to LA). We also know that Andy Cutler is against the use of chlorella and cilantro, whereas Georgiou and Klinghardt both use it. It’s about to get even more confusing…

Intravenous Therapies

• We’ll now look at the work and experience of two British dental practitioners – Drs. Graeme and Lillian Munro-Hall – and Dr. Thomas Levy, MD. Both have written excellent books that I highly recommend you read at your earliest convenience.

Intravenous Therapies (books)


• In Levy’s book, there’s a massive amount of research showing how vitamin C can have positive effects (and heal completely) a vast array of problems relating to infectious diseases and toxins:– Viruses

– Bacteria

– Parasites

– Endotixin

– Pesticides

– Venom

– Radiation


• On pages 279-311 he presents data on the positive effects of IV vitamin C therapy on several toxic elements and the research goes back to the 1940s and beyond:– Mercury

– Lead

– Chromium

– Arsenic

– Cadmium

– Vanadium

– Nickel

– Aluminium

– Fluoride


• Vitamin C seems to have massive protective properties against many toxins – including heavy metals – whilst at the same time being able to help reduce body burden. Dr. Frederick Klenner was the pioneer of IV vitamin C therapy, and said:

“There is nothing intravenous vitamin C cannot cure if given long enough and in high enough doses.”


• Vitamin C is a reducing agent – it donates electrons. The RDA is around 65mg/day (to prevent scurvy). To maintain much better levels of health, at least 1,000mg is recommended. Graeme Munro-Hall uses 10-20,000mg/day!

“Vitamin C is a reducing agent; it removes metals from the body not by chelation, like DMPS, DMSA or EDTA,

but by oxidation/reduction reactions similar to what the body does. Chelation on the other hand, chemically

grabs the metals and minerals and strips them from the body including all the essential minerals such as Mg,

Cu, etc. This is the danger of chelating agents, especially long-term use or one one should say abuse”

Munro-Hall: Toxic Dentistry Exposed, page 120.



“Vitamin C works by donating an electron. This is essentially what anti-oxidants do. Mercury when it is bound to tissues is forced to accept an electron from vitamin C and when it does, it loosens the bond and

becomes free.”



“Imagine a mercury atom hanging on by one hand like a monkey to a branch in a tree. Along comes vitamin C and gives the monkey a banana (electron). The monkey grabs the banana but then falls out of the tree. Mercury in this state is not so reactive and will find it difficult to rebind to tissues. When it is in this state, GSH wraps the mercury securely up and takes it to the colon where it is

excreted.”


“Now for the really clever bit. After glutathione does this it needs regenerating to be able to wrap up more mercury. Regenerating GSH requires an electron from

vitamin C. So if there’s enough vitamin C available, GSH keeps on regenerating and removing mercury and a

host of other toxins as well.”



• Vitamin C also rehydrates cells making them go back to their proper shape (allows for proper receptor shape and fit), improves energy production, kills viral, parasitic and bacterial infections, and detoxifies other many other compounds as stated previously.


• Can the IV effect be matched by oral dosing? Well, it depends on individual bowel tolerance. Some people can take up to 120g in divided doses over 24 hours, which is a lot. According to Munro-Hall, the more ill the patient is, the greater the bowel tolerance (p.122).


• IV vitamin C therapy has the opposite effect, which must be tempered by giving plenty of clean drinking water. The threshold dose is 0.75g vitamin C per kg bodyweight, which can increase to 1g per kg bodyweight (the highest they’ve ever given is 250g for three consecutive days to a gulf war syndrome patient).

• Note – also see Cutler, page 92 for additional dosage guidelines.


• There’s a rare condition in which individuals may have a glucose-6-phosphatase (G6PD) deficiency. These people should not use IV vitamin C. They are usually eastern Mediterranean, or African descent. It’s not routinely tested and is mostly picked up after severe antibiotic reactions.


• Side effects of IV vitamin C may include:

– Thirst

– Hypoglycemia

– Irritating to veins

– Changes in mental and emotional state (usually positive changes)

– Possible kidney stones (Cutler, page 91; refuted by Munro-Halls, who state improvements in kidney health)


“The merits of IV vitamin C or IV vitamin/mineral drips are that they pretty much make anyone feel better. They are especially effective in controlling adverse reactions to improper use of chelating agents and

helping people fight viral infections.”

Cutler, p. 91.


“Intravenous Vitamin C. Recent book by Tom Levy, MD. Detoxes mercury, lead and aluminum mostly over the colon which is desirable. I use 37.5 gms with 500 ml

distilled water and 10 ml Ca gluconate over 1 hr. Can be used daily. Once a week is common, especially during

amalgam removal. Irritating to veins. Causes hypoglycemia. No serious side effects. Safe to use for most dentists. Oral vitamin C works less effectively.

Must be given to bowel tolerance.”

Klinghardt


• Just to confuse you, Dr. Crinnion cites research suggesting IV vitamin C may not work (I haven’t looked at the dosage used):

“While some have suggested intravenous vitamin C may be of benefit in chelating mercury from the body,

this has not been shown to be the case. In a study of 28 subjects, IV ascorbic acid failed to significantly increase

mercury excretion.”


• I had a client once attend a clinic in Florida because she was slowly getting worse under my care, despite us getting rid of all her bad bugs and running protocols according to Organix results, etc. An environmental inspection revealed significant formaldehyde off-gassing in her bedroom. The clinic used a lot of IV with her and she was a new person. I think she’d have died if she hadn’t had the treatment.

Side Effects of Detoxification

• With regard to side-effects, Dr. George Georgiou states:

“HMD is the ONLY 100% natural heavy metal detox product that has undergone extensive testing and has been scientifically proven to work. Unlike many other detox products, HMD has no major detox side effects. There simply is no other product like it on the market

today!”


• As expected, Cutler disagrees and states:

“Side effects can never be eliminated. You will always have some. The more poisoned you are, the worse they will be. But these protocols will give you the least side effects you can get. A proper protocol will also vastly

reduce the risk of adverse reactions – those times when really nasty things happen and you get a lot worse for a

long time.”


• I had a dabble at heavy metal detoxification myself using some basic products, well before I really knew what I was doing. My personality changed – I felt angry and aggressive one moment, then stressed, anxious the next. I’d then slip into a depressed –almost hopeless state – and then snap out of it (ask David Brassey, who I attacked viciously one day!)


• The product I used was Metal-X Synergy (6 caps per day):– Sodium 120mg 5%– Potassium 130mg 4%– Dietary Fiber1g 4%+– Modified Citrus Pectin 1500mg – Chlorella-broken cell wall 1000mg– Alignate Complex 750 mg *– N-Acetyl-Cysteine 600mg *– Cilantro Extract 400mg *– Garlic (Allium sativum) 400mg *– Fulvic Acid 150mg *– Alpha Lipoic Acid 100mg *– L-Glutathione (reduced) 100mg *


• When you read the work of someone like Cutler it’s easy to see how the ad hoc use of something like Metal-X Synergy could cause problems for people.


• Are we overthinking things? Part of me feels I could help a lot of people by running detoxification programmes for them and that the likes of Dr. Georgiou are correct. I ask myself, “is it really that complex?” But when I read Cutler’s work, the Munro-Halls, Levy, Huggins, etc. the other part simply won’t shoulder the burden of risk.


• If you have a real desire to do the work, then go for it. But please learn from the best. Go direct to the source and take mentoring and internships to master the programme supervision. Let’s finish with some Klinghardt wisdom…

– I would put the detoxification of the physical body and treatment of microorganisms together as one point, and add structure/mechanics as the third point, thus giving the triad of holism integral.

Heavy Metal Detoxification - Summary

• According to experts, heavy metal detoxification can be achieved in three main ways:

– Botanical (e.g. chlorella and cilantro)

– Chelating agents (DMSA, DMPS, etc.)

– IV vitamin C therapy and other IV nutrients


• As usual, experts disagree as to which approach is most beneficial, which confuses the issue for practitioners like you and me. Each method appears to have its own merits and drawbacks (but that’s a universal truth in itself).


• Because of the controversy and potential to do harm, I personally stay away from this area of work. However I will be developing products and services to help clients and patients in this area in the future, by partnering with people more qualified than myself to do the work.


• My recommendation to you is to be very careful and if you are not medically trained, seek to align yourself with someone who is well-versed in this work (it is an art form!)
