JCSA Past President
Co-Chairs, JCSA 100th Anniversary Celebration Program Committee
The Jewish Communal Service Association's 100th Aimiversary is an
occasion to commemorate its many accomplishments, and to pay tribute to those who led the organization through its demanding first one hundred years. The milestone also lepresents a unique oppormnity to reflect on the past, consider the present, and visualize the fumre of the profession, and the Jewish community it serves with unswerving dedication.
J C S A has undertaken four maj or programmatic initiatives designed to both celebrate these achievements, and enhance the knowledge and understanding of the profession as we approach the new millennium. These projects are (1 ) an indepth survey of J C S A membership, in cooperation with the Wurzweiler School of Social Work; (2) a seminar/teleconference on professional leadership, available to communities throughout North America; (3) a gala dinner honoring our Past Presidents; and (4) this special commemorative edition of the Journal of Jewish Communal Service.
The success of this intricate tapestty of interwoven projects required the active cooperation and support from J C S A leaders, and many others concemed with the profession. We would like to take this oppormnity to acknowledge the outstanding programmatic assistance and financial support J C S A , and we, were formnate to receive.

VISION AND EXECUTION
The entire enterprise owes much to the visionary leadership of J C S A President, Max L . Kleinman. Max initiated several of the individual projects, then forged them into a unified approach to our celebration of a cenmry of service. He gave unstintingly of his time, energies and leadership, reaching out to many segments of the community to gamer their assistance, cooperation and support.
The vision was successfiilly translated into reality through the hard work and professionalism of die J C S A staff—Joel Ollander, Executive Director, and Miima Nelson, Executive Assistant. No major project was too overwhelming, no small task was too burdensome...and all accomplished with a smile and a "can do" attitude. Minna and Joel are tmly the "pro's pros."
Finally, we want to thank J C S A for the unique opportunity our role as co-chairs of the celebration offered. We leamed, we grew, and we enjoyed! May the Association continue to go from strength to strength...and from generation to generation, secure in its vital role as the Jewish communal service profession.
