3YOUR GUIDE TO GETTING STARTED AND LAUNCHING YOUR FIRST SOCIAL CAMPAIGN

What is Hootsuite Campaigns? Our social media campaign platform empowers digital marketers with 8 different social contests, sweepstakes, and galleries to attract followers and drive leads. Hootsuite Campaigns is built right into Hootsuite, so businesses can monitor campaigns, engage with customers, and build lists for their next initiatives all from the comfort of their Hootsuite dashboard. We know that it can seem daunting to choose from all our available campaign types.

When in doubt, use this guide.

How Can It Help Me?Hootsuite Campaigns lets you launch social media campaigns—like contest and sweepstakes—for your fans to take part in. If you want to turn followers into leads and turn your fans’ user-generated content into advertising, Hootsuite Campaigns is for you.

Hootsuite Campaigns helps businesses:

Manage and moderate social campaigns from the Hootsuite dashboard

Create social media galleries to aggregate mentions, photos, and videos containing specific hashtags, and monitor incoming content before it goes live

Easily export social campaign data to help shape your next marketing calendar

Learn where your superfans are around the world and across social media networks

Where Should My Campaign Live? Before you decide on the what, you might want to think about the where. Our platform gives you three hosting options. A microsite is an independent website, dedicated to your campaign. Using the Facebook app involves setting up your campaign on a tab on your Facebook Page. Or you can choose to do both.

1. Microsite Amplifies importance of campaign

Gives visitors a smaller website to really investigate

2. Facebook App Connect with your customers where they live

Keep fans within the Facebook experience

Builds campaign as an app within your Facebook

3. Microsite & Facebook App Enjoy the benefits of both platforms

Stretch your reach across the Internet

No matter which option you choose, Hootsuite Campaigns provides full mobile functionality, letting both your team and your fans participate on the go. Keep in mind that this applies only the campaign once it’s launched. Building your campaigns via mobile would be very difficult, if not impossible.

Which Campaign Should I Run?The eight kinds of campaigns you can build fall into two categories: lead generation, and user-generated content collection. Which campaign you should run depends on your goals, both as a business and as a company on social media. All campaigns will grow your

social following, but whether you’re seeking a bigger email list, fan-made photos and videos, or just a deeper understanding of your fans, different campaigns will be right for you.

The Eight CampaignsWe’ve taken the liberty of writing step-by-step guides to launching each campaign. Don’t be frightened by how much text there is: like Julia Child and Mastering the Art of French Cooking, we think that recipes are easiest when they’re as explicit as possible. Follow the steps, and your campaign will be live in under five minutes. We guarantee it.
