God’s encouragement and instruction to all those who suffer hardship, persecution or temptation from their present culture.

1 Peter 1:1-2“Elect”- Called, chosen, selected to live at this moment in history

“Foreknowledge of God”- No fate, accidents or luck. Only God’s plan

“For obedience”- God uses hardship for the purpose of obedience

“Father”- Tenderness of relationship

“Grace”- Unmerited favor; abilities beyond yourself
